I don't know why everyone is saying that this is so well done? It is not done well at all is what they should be saying. It looks totally fake from start to finish. The witch is flying the wrong way. The house looks like it's from a monopoly game and it just bounces around in slow motion sustaining absolutely zero damage while a giant F5 sized twister is ripping the ground apart and throwing it up into the air. Then the dirt just doesn't fall? It just fades out and look's totally fake also.

@misterguns1 It does indeed look very fake but keep in mind that this was decades ago, and this was certainly the best they could do with the resources and technology they had. Maybe it could have been executed better but it was actually pretty interesting how they made this whole scene. The tornado is actually a muslin stocking.

This is a pretty lame thing to find on the web when your looking for the real thing... your counter says 147,383 views so far... My guess is that most of those clicked off again after about 5 seconds... Please label these things better so you don't compete with people looking for scenes from the film... This is so annoying.

yeah! a scrim flew down over the stage (around 25x10 metres) that blocked the view (AFTER they did a really cool twister scene on stage) to cover the scene change to the munchkin land scene. it was huge!

The House was a scale model of the house from the set of the show built by Alberto Salvarto, then we filmed it in front of a purple screen. If you want to see the ORIGINAL purple screen footage, i'll put it up for you.
