All of The Church's albums are awesome. This band has done so much over the years they've worked their butts of for us fans..Thanks so much Church..still love ya after all these years and will continue supporting you guys.Take care.
I saw them at the Los Angeles House of Blues during this tour. In between songs, I remember someone in the audience shouting out, "Get off your stools and rock!" And Steve responding, "Who's that? Ted Nugent?" Classic moment.
I love "After Everything Now This." For those who haven't given it a chance, you've got to listen to it uninterrupted several times. It's heavenly and my favorite Church album in years!
In addition to my reply: years ago i bought the "numbers" single. It had a masterpiece acoustic version on it with incredible light (snare???) drum work. I have no idea where it went, but god i miss it.
I totally agree with drummerboyrocks..The Church are one of the GREATEST BANDS.Have all their albums and cd's and they never bore me.The more you listen the more you want.
the church have *some* good songs, especially this one!!!!! -it's just a shame most of their stuff bores me to death. if youre going to listen to slow songs, listen to the cure, cause at the leastest they are hell more interesting than the church's.
some of The Church's best stuff takes a while to grow on you,but then it stays.....and,as good as The Cure are, The Church piss all over them....and then some!
You said it Florian. The Church are far and away the most under-appreciated band on the planet in my not so humble opinion. I've been listening to Heyday a lot this week and wondering.....Why haven't hundreds of millions of people heard this album. Oh well. What are you gonna do?
Kilbey et al. make intelligent music, and intelligence isn't ideal for mass consumption. People want dumbed-down pop music, verse/verse/chorus/bridge/verse/chorus, and lyrics they have to think about.
The greatest band of the last 30 yrs, and I think the only rock band to open a world wide sporting event ? anything called 'world series' and open to residents of the USA only does not qualify....
Hi Florian. I'm curious. From your perspective. If the Church decided to tour Montana...I mean for like a month. Two shows a day. Would people respond and say..."Wow! What an amazing fucking band! Where are these guys from?" or would they simply leave the show hoping the bars were still open?

I'll get flamed for saying this but Steve has written better songs than this in his sleep.

Wow
Very strong opener for the album (After Everything Now This)
Such a strange record for the group. I think the best track is the last (Invisible) personally

I am so glad someone else loves Invisible!!! I love the line "scenes move past the curtain that the darkness leaves uncertain"...ahhh the spoken word.
The song about the aliens is cool too...."Only love can re-love hate.......alright!!" :)
