anyone think the graphics might be too good and shiny? when i played this game (i am used to arcade a bit) it felt like i was racing not cars, but pictures of cars. same story with sound, its like youre sitting next to a recording of the car (except theres no sort of overrun or fuel burning or any fun stuff).
Not really. grid isnt that good for what it does IMO. You are either a sim or an arcade style racer. Its trying to be both and failing. With that said I do like the crashes.
Also gt5s frame rate at 60 fps is more true to life, so what you would see out of your eyes while driving a realcar, is what you see through the game, its 100% spot on, grid is just blurred and the frames are like on pgr, so it only simulates the feeling that you are driving fast.
No one is trying to say they are a racing genius, but normal traffic driving etiquette such as driving in the center of their own lane is quite important.
I think GT5 has really upped it's game with the new physics engine which is just as challenging to drive as Forza 2 but at the same time making you feel as one with the car. I'm not sure why but you really feel the car in GT5, perhaps the Driving Force Pro is just that much better then the MS wheel or maybe it's the much more natural braking setup, where feathering the brakes does not automatically mean skidding and locking up when all aids are off including ABS
forza 2 is pretty good R1 class up and sebring is fantastic but yeah otherwise this is better. I hate forza 2 physics below r1 class... as the brakes are nonexistant and the sense of speed is off.
Very nice driving man.

just so you know i think polyphony said in-game is 60 and replays have added effects and filters so they are only 30fps

Replays for bumper view, cockpit view, and third person view run at 60fps and look identical to gameplay graphics.
It's only when you switch to the TV camera view that it goes to 30fps for the added special effects etc.

How can I run with 60 fps?

Sorry Youtube doesn't show the game running at 60fps but what I was filming was 60fps on my TV.

Are you playing that in super slo-mo? Grid is so much better and faster. Grid has more realistic speed than this.

you are driving like a pussy not focusing whats ahead of you,
you are looking to much into your rear mirrors afraid of sombody behind you, who might be faster then you .
thats not racing. in the real car you would be in big trouble.
so please dont attemt real racing, stay on the computer there you are save and not a safty hasard for other drivers.

how to you turn your head when you are in the cockpit?
topgear215 3 years ago
You can map "look left/look right" to your analogue controller in the control setup.
If you have a wheel plugged in, you have to hold the PS button so you can assign your controller back to slot 1.
