Well Public forum is still a type of debate, accounting I do this type of debate. Yes Policy is hard..I've done debate for 2 years now and still struggle with Policy. BUT Puff is still a debate. This is hard to flow because he is monotone..But that doesn't make THIS exact type of debate bad.
I'm a noob at debate (only had 3 tournaments) and I'm better than this guy. Speak up and add emotion kid, and to those in CX, don't hate on PF, I respect CXers, and I did public forum only due to my fear of spreaders. (Now, I realize it is the most controversial topics, so that's why I stay)
and I prefer policy because once you have built your case, your basically done until performances. the thing that makes policy soo difficult is trying to solve.
i did policy for a year, and im trying Pu.F this season- i think that they are equal in the sense of work, skill however holds a higher standard in Policy because you have to keep the debate on your side.

policy debate has to be the most useless thing i have ever seen. There are no useful skills learned, you just talk as fast as you can and hope that you go faster than your opponent. NO ONE OUTSIDE OF YOURSELF AND THE JUDGES could watch and have any idea what is going on.
Policy takes the MOST work and the MOST skill. Spreading is not what you do to win in a policy round, Everyone thinks all you have to do is talk fast. you win by giving 50 hours a week doing research and practicing your skills and impact analysis.
Try it for awhile all you fucking haters I can garantuee your asses wouldn't talk shit
I have done policy and after doing three rounds, I realized why people call it BS instead of CX. Just the fact that you claim "policy debate is the hardest" shows how ignorant you are. The evidence is right in front of you but you miss it, (that's a surprise) policy gets ONE FUCKING TOPIC EVERY YEAR. You write one aff, one neg. Hooray. You carry around tubs of evidence so that you can clash between Dr.soandso said this and Professer hereandthere says the opposite, devaluing evidence to the
point where it is useless and burning theory to ash. All that's left then is who can pull the most convincing bullshit out their ass with their remaining time.
LD and Policy are most likely the most difficult overall debates, but the talent between all of them is impossible to measure due to the huge differences between all of them.
lol ....policy debate is more centralized. There are hundreds of Affs on one centralized topic and there are numerous Neg advocates like the status quo, CP, K, independent voters and separate DAs. I'm not saying policy is harder -- but don't rip on policy....policy rocks
@rlabounty2011 Policy has degraded into too much metadebate, which is why I prefer PF. Granted, public forum acts as a stormdrain where all the meek and untalented gather, but you still have a nice layer of great teams to go against. My partner and I qualified for State in both Public Forum and Policy, and while Policy is definitely the more intense of the two debates, both of them were equally challenging since we had to knock out another thirty-odd teams to place. Competition is competition.
@rlabounty2011 Hey, I know you posted this 3 years ago, but go fuck yourself. Policy is nothing but bullshit. Observations, counter plans, kritiks, etc. There's too much bullshit that goes into it and you don't actually end with anything of substance. It always turns into a definition war or an argument over who's evidence is better without actually getting the main points. I know the nature of policy debaters. They're pompous assholes - like you. Public forum actually addresses the substance.
@rlabounty2011 That being said, this is not the best round of public forum. The guys in here sort of suck. I don't even know if they're serious or not. I didn't watch the entire video because I started to get pissed off at them for how they were treating the debate.

ARE YOU KIDDING?
first of all, NO ONE, NO ONE has a RIGHT to dis policy, it's the hardest debate there is.
Let me guess, you do public forum?
HA.
and you think you DEBATE?
wow, public forum is basically a really really easy speech.
Plus, talking fast helps your speech when you talk slower too, so you don't end up (no offense) talking like this guy, policy is amazing.
