Great video, but the horses never swim. Learned this the hard way. When a horse swims, only his ears &eyes are out of the water and the rider is fully submerged. These horses are doing what we call dancing across the bottom(still great fun). If you don't believe me, put them in deeper water, just when the horse starts swimming,swim above him, but do not let him turn toward you or he can drown you. When he swims, if you touch his back,you will force him under. Like I said,we learned the hard way.

Swimming is SO fun! we have a pond at the barn and we love it!!

but

~Go bareback, more comfortable for you, your horse, and saddle lol

~wear shorts/barefoot, more comfortable lol (I cant stand wet pants/shoes! lol)

That looks like so much fun! At the place where I ride, we're right next to a highway and the old trailrides got destroyed when they made said highway, so the only things we get to do like this happen at shows. I've always wanted to do this though! (:

I would suggest wearing a helmet though, not as much in water but on the roads. :D

omg you shouldent sit on the horse whille it swimms as it can really damage its back and there have been cases were the horse has drowned because the rider was wieghing it down so he couldent swim to the eadge !!!!!!!!!! you should swim along side if anything ! it takes loads of energy for the horse to swim as it is ! the rider just dobbles it !
