@HoodFromTheWoods666 LOL what kind of H1's have you seen? The first one is Manny's 1995 H1, The white pickup is Charleston Traction Company's 1999 H1 with a 4bt Cummins... As for the slant back it is also the civilian H1... Military slantbacks dont have windows in the back. Maybe next time you should know the facts first eh?

cant speak for all of them but I do believe the 2door(pickup) ones are both locked. The first one in the video(4door opentop with no doors) i know for a fact isnt locked. as for the rest i am not sure.

h1's dont come stock with lockers right?? what you have to do is step on the brake an accelerate slowly!!!

The older ones did not that is correct you will have to use BTM with the older ones. But in 1999 AM General was ordered to add abs to the trucks so BTM would no longer be possible... So they developed TT4 to help combat this then later added factory lockers.

This is a good demonstration of basically a stock H1 against other modified 4x4s... its a good video for all the doubters.. it also comes down to jealousy, people just shut up and accept that the stock H1 is better than your modified rig

The defender had way worse tires. I'm sorry you like Hummer so much. My Father's company helped desighn the H1's. They almost scrapped the whole project. They were too big and got stuck way too much. Do you know what he used to drive, A jeep J10. By the way I will put my FJ40 and my J10 against your H1 anyday of the week. Any serious offroader knows better than to waste their money on an H1. The only reason thay exist is they carry more troops than a jeep. Hummer should be dead. Live on Jeep.

the defender's tires looked pretty knobby to me sure didnt have as much sidewall knobs but ir wasnt going through the mud it was rock climbing... and no doubt H1's will get stuck but I disagree that it will get stuck more than another vehicle check my other videos especially the mudding one... shows multiple vehicles getting stuck in a hole that a stock H1 with bald tires does without issue.

The 90 has the ideal dimensions for off road, like willy's jeep etc.

Longer is better in some cases for offroading yes... and my videos are setout to prove so. Check my other videos... And sure the defeneder lost grip OVER AND OVER again. Why? Because it is a shorter wheelbase making it a bit tipsy thus making it harder for it to grip. So that is why in some cases longer wheelbase is better.

and no matter how much you support your brand or talk your talk it is just that all talk. This is the reason I started making this video... All you "serious" offroaders think that the hummer is too big, heavy, not enough power, and not enough flex to do anything... well surprisingly enough it is a very capable rig and I have put mine in a few trails that some folks with smaller vehicles would not go... And can do so with 6 people and trail loaded cant say that about a FJ40 or a Jeep now can you?

Actually the space inside a hummer is nearly all transmission tunnel, u can fit 6 in the shorter landrover, more than 10 in the 110".

Mountain rescue were loaned a hummer near me, they couldnt fit a stretcher in with the crew like they can on 90, and it was crap off road, to long and wide so it bottoms out.

They gave it back!

Yes the raised tunnel is to keep the center of gravity low and does a great job... now I am not saying that the 2 on the aux seat will be comfortable but still do able. I can even put another aux seat and fit 8. Also if their crew is a crew of four I dont see why they couldnt fit a stretcher or even 2 of them down the tunnel...

Yeah, I am not saying that Hummers are the ultimate vehicle I know there is some obsticles etc out there that another vehicle might do better. I am just here defending the hummer name and letting people know there is stuff that a hummer can do better than other vehicles and a hummer is a pretty damn good all around stock offroader.

As for bottoming out yes this is a problem with longer/wider wheelbase but with H1 having almost twice the ground clearence as a stock rover I dont see how this would be more of a problem than with a rover especially the 110".

I dare say auto transmissions are an advantage for slippy surfaces, u can get auto 90's.

110 have a problem with bottoming out.

There is a rock crawler hummer on here somewhere, its a bit shorter, big tyres and kind of space framed.

Yes there is alot of positives from auto transmissions especially in a h1... The most positive one would be BTM(Brake Throttle Modulation). But yea I am not a brand snob, I am a big fan of any brand that is capable of wheelin. Its just that when someone attacks my brand of choice of course I am going to defend it. But in all honestly if I had the cash I would have a Hummer, Jeep, Rover, Mog, Yota and a Suki in my driveway.

How does BTM work?

Do u get engine braking on down hill or do u have to use brakes?

Going down steep hills using low range 1st is wierd, no brakes just engine!

well with HMMWV's and H1 that are from the year 1998 and earlier. They come equipt with Torsen Type 1 Differential. Which basically will transfer the power to the halftshaft of least resistance(usually the one in the air or slipping) With BTM you stop the wheel spin... Apply the brakes then apply the gas till you get the engine at RPM's with most torque which is around 1700-1900RPM in the H1 then you let off the brake a bit so your moving but still applying them.

Your Dad works for AM General? Post your wheeling videos :)Otherwise you're another youtube armchair wheeler. H1's are larger because of the cargo capacity that is mandated by the military. It seems most of the h1 critics miss that point. It's bigger but has higher cargo capacity. A jeep is fine for 2 people, a dog and some gear, need to carry a few tons of cargo? Get a H1/HMMWV, need more then that? Use a FMTV.
