Update of My Crazy Modded Xbox

I'm usually a lot more conservative and prefer mods to be "tasteful", but for some reason I really love this. It's like Strongbad and CrazyGoNuts University. Is it too much? Yeah. Is it overkill? Definitely. But so are monster trucks and sharks with frickin' lasers on their heads, and they're still awesome.

I tip my hat to the mad scientist that created this monstrosity.

Except for the fact that you bought that whole X3 Xecuter 3 Control Panel, they sell them with pre-wired screens and stuff and that's the exact kit you have installed. Lol, still a cool system though, looks a little weird with all of the colors and the random neon tubes sticking up. But still, sick console.

thanks to the guys that like it. and i do have it loaded with software and mods. a 160gig dh filled with stuff. iv got unleash, xbmc, emulators, evo x and every other dash. alot many uploaded games. and i did this xbox a while back when i was younger. so now if i did it i would have done it a little different and also would have put the cathode inside the xbox, but now im into my truck and i dont really wanna go back and work on this.

ok, nothing runs on a 9volt battery, its all hardmodded in. and i can turn the lights off too with switches so it doesnt use as much of the power supply. and i only have 3 cold cathodes, the rest r LED's

DO you know what kind of load ur putting on that small xbox power supply. you have a dvd drive and a 120 gig hd plus like 200 lights and the mod chip. You do know that if you went on halo 2 and hosted a 16 player game for 1 hour that your xbox would most likely explode in your face right?

i have soo many qualms with that statement. first off a 120 gig hd does not use anymore power than the standard 8 gig. the so-called 200 lights, which are mostly LED's would run off a 9v battery for like a week, the power they use are so minute. hosting a game in halo would also not use any more power than just playing halo single player. if anything WAS to happen to it, it may overheat, but i doubt even that will happen.

sorry, but i didnt fully understand. BUT a 120 gig does put a larger load on your xbox, although slight. My understanding was that you had 10 cold catherode tube, A mod chip and crt (although they dont add major loads) BUT i really doubt that 1 9vt battery can power those lights for a week. Dont get me wrong im not arguing with you or saying ur fake. lol im just interested how you made this all work on the small power supply. lol sorry to be an ass ;)

im not the guy who made this particular xbox :) was just commenting. when i said the thing about the 9v battery i was reffering to the LEDs, not the cathodes. actually, i was just trying to make a point that they use very little power..infact if you hooked up an LED to a 9v the LED would burn out and/or explode :)

Yea a led doesnt need 9v lol. But then again the cathode ray tubes and all need a lot of power. Also to have a screen hd and everything else like the chips i know the xbox wasnt designed with froom for upgrades. So i dk that all this can run on the power supply. w/e nice job if he did.

soft moding is more stable plus you dont have to buy the chip. i have modded over 20 xboxs for friends and whatnot, however most of which i soldered a chip in (mostly because the soft mod requires an older box). i make my own jewels that i dremel out of acrylic sheets, you should try that, so you have an more original box. i really think you should lose the skin though, and paint the box yourself. on another note i also build pc's as well as restore/mod other systems.

learn how to do a soft mod, on a version 1 xbox from 03 or before, you dont need a mod chip. you should really get rid of the skin and paint it yourself it will look alot better. i like the lcd screen, but honestly what good is it? (im not trying to be a dick, just constructive critisism) did you make the jewel and all that yourself? or was it bought? i wouldnt suggest adding a dvd window...i did it for a friend of mine, and it makes some wack noises when the cd spins
