They still use 12 year old ambos in NYC. I thought they accumlated to many miles in a HUGE city like that to be used for more than 3 years, (at the very most)??
With the poor treatment and inexplicably low supply of newer trucks, those old 1997 ambulances are still in use, many with 100,000+ miles, no A/C, and no reclining seats...all around FDNY EMS, these trucks are all BLS units have, while the ALS units (who are held to a higher regard and do a lot less work) get first crack at new trucks when they're delievered. They treat us EMT's like dirt, yet we keep doing our job.

It looks like this video was made before Tuesday September 11th 2001. Not only I bet those are the Twin Towers, but those ambulances look a little old as well. Very interesting to see a good old day.

I thought that was a pretty good catch. ive only seen the frontline rigs going or the newer ones on the road. those look like reserves.
