I used a balloon, stuck it to the ceiling with tape, made an oxygen mask with a cup and string going through it, and I taped the cup to the balloon stuck to the ceiling. It really works!
I did similarly the same, except without the ballon.(One of my first inventions) My best one was when I use dust masks; I put them in a plastic-clear box, attached the mask's with strings, the strings attached on the bottom of the box with tape, put a piece of paper on the entrence, while tape is holding the other side, and used paper clips to hold the "paper door" closed. And whenever I would like to simulate, I hit the door with something light, and the mask drops down by gravity! Like real!
If the masks drop, as result of some kind of drama, while you're in air, you'll be ssoooh ttiiihrredd, thhhaaat yyooouuh'll bbeee ttoooh bbuusyyy ffooorcciing yyooouuurssseeelffff ttoooh ppuuull thhhaaaat mmaaasskk, ppuuutingggg iiit oovveeer yyoouur ffaaace, that you won't have the time weting your pants.
I hate those masks, cause I'll have to squeeze them back in, when they're dropped.
Two masks with oxygen hoses and one compartmant panel to be handled at the same time with two hands only.
Ah! My favorite aviation tool: The oxygen mask. I went crazy about this thing. Ever since I was 10, I design my own creative Ox masks. First they cups with strings attached that I hold. Second one was dust masks in a plastic suit case, so as to get realistic of it dropping down, but holding the suit case. Third one was medical masks on strings that droped down from a small chest high above. Forth one was the same expect they were dust masks, and the case was plastic, and the door was paper.
they will become unconscious trying to grab the mask

@aerlingus11: It demands a huge amount of awareness, but it's possible grabing the mask before falling asleep.

@aerlingus11 It takes about 15-20 seconds to become unconscious from hypoxia
