  • makes me think they dont have good building codes in texas

  • The Construction Manager should have had a plan in place with the local fire department... they are at fault as much as the Fire Marshal who signed off on the plans. The Fire Marshal should have the power to demand working fire hydrants prior to stick framing. Water/Hydrants are installed with the site work and should of all been up and working prior to anyone authorizing the stick framing.

  • lol i seen this when i was going to skool

  • Damn, and I had really cheap reservations for that place.

  • My question I guess is why did they not roll the tankers on the first call it seems the chief should have known right from the start that 1 hydrant would not be enough also how often did they test that hydrant all ours were tested at least once every 2 weeks as far as possible

  • location is US59 not I-59! I-59 is in the southeast

  • Prior to construction there should have been water to at least 2 fire hydrants.

Once the slab was poured there should have been water to the structure.

  • I can't believe that I live near these idiots.

  • Don't think I will ever visit America, if that is the building standard used for hotels. My life is too important to risk staying in some crappy timber and plastic structure.

  • you should put water on this

  • did this hotel have a sprinkler system

  • @firefightercharles If you watched the bid you'd know the answer ;) - The building was only 85 - 90% complete (Still in construction) and well I guess the owners just wished they had the sprinklers installed sooner :P

  • it was scary how i was there 2 days before

  • Why fight it ? The whole thing is a loss, just let it go !

  • that was one hell of a fire !

  • My hats off to the fire fighters you had to fight this with one hand tied behind your back.

  • Looks like a universal Church...

  • no hydrant should be off & just 1 to cover that area? shabby to say the least.

  • that placed looked brand new !

  • @pmanson0624 It was under construction brand new...

  • @bigbubba357m we had a similar fire up here in CT . The hotel was still under construction and it was a total loss.

  • @pmanson0624 Ya this was a bad situation I was one of the deputies there. At the time there was alot of arson fires in the area. This fire was so hot I was standing about 150 yards from it and it felt like it could still give ya a nice burn.

  • dis place is a total loss

  • WOW!

That guy's camera must be really good.

  • I almost could not believe what I heard, when a fireman told the interviewer about having only 1 fire hydrant. Sounds like a bunch of idiots involved with the zoning commission to approve the building of a project without critical updates and reassuring that there was indeed a governing water supply close for the sole purpose in putting out a fire! And then to say it was a hotel! Good job guy's(Zoning Commission).........NOT!!!

  • @service1956 This was a new motel in a area with a small shopping ceter and a bank. This motel wasnt even open yet. Improvements to the area was not done yet. You go that same spot now and it's not the same.

  • la verdad que bastante lentitos lso bomberos americans...

  • Great job guys, its a bitch when you dont have the water you need and you only have one hydrant.

  • i think its an example of trying to talk the fire out although they did a hell of a job with the water supply though...overall, great job guys...

  • perfect example of Cheap building construction

  • where is montgomery county texas?? i live in central texas (williamson county). that fire looked way to involved when the fire dept showed up, they did the best they could i think.

  • This location is approximately 25 miles north of Houston.

  • Comment removed

  • Why have the set-up and the ladder on the left if there is no water?

YES THEY ARE READY FOR WATER! WHERE THE HELL IS THE WATER WHEN YOU NEED IT?

  • A lot of these areas (yes, even around Houston metro) have issues with water. Most VFD's have one or more tankers for this purpose.

  • para bomberos los de tijuana

  • Its a shame, but what can you do without water....

  • i saw this fire when i was going to school.

    was badass in real life.

  • what the heck were they doin. if they were just gunna watch they could have just sent a guy with a camera and stayed home.

  • 39325dlee - did you even watch the vid? there was 1 hydrant near the hotel which wasnt turned on when crews arrived! it take at least a minute to set up an apparatus for any sort of fire suppression. crews tried to do an interior attack, but couldnt! i dont see how they just watched the place burn down! they did a surround and drown. id like to see you willingly run into a fire that big and put it out, while crews are setting up still, there is not water. think before you speak.

  • i didnt speak. i typed. Neways, maybe it wasnt their fault. All i saw was a small fire that turned into a huge fire while the fire dept. was there.

  • I live in the next town over, in Porter, I can't believe its been a year already. This for people that don't know, was a brand new hotel under construction. Didn't even get the chance to have one person stay in it. I live 5 miles from it. 1 year and nothing is put in its place. I guess when the owner lost a $3 MILLION building then he just give up. SAD SAD SAD.

  • do you have any fire training? Theres a reason for everything so shut your mouth before you start bashing how different depts. handle things. Come to North America and say that to our depts. Americans wont like it and neither would us Canadians. So fuck you bud

  • What are they making these buldings out of today??? Looks like they just melt away.

  • i think the fire was caused by a gas leak i saw that

  • sad buring a big manison

  • i saw the smoke and shit from the fire....ive seen a house, apartment, and hotel burn down! mwahahahahaha(pyro)

  • i mean neice

  • OMG THATS BY WHERE MY NICE live !!!!!!!

she saw it on da way 2 her school!!

she says she got freaked out!!!!!

well not really the kids in da but were all like

"omg omg theres a fire omg"

some of da boys were all like

    "kool a fire"

    lol ^_^

  • I bet the owner is wishing there was a working sprinkler system in the building huh!!!!

  • I saw that

  • Hrmm, maybe it should be illegal to begin construction without a functioning hydrant (except in rural areas, of course).

Maybe there should be minimum supply of nearby hydrants considering size of structure.

Maybe they should have built the pool first :)

  • I'd like to say thankyou to all the depts that came out and helped there was a lot going on' thanks guys

  • my bro,sis and mom saw that live but not me cause they had just dropped me off to the highschool
