Wow. I won this album as a prize in a dance contest in the early 80's in Detroit. I had never heard of this band before that. But loved the whole album, which I still have.
Glad you like it. I liked it after hearing it for the first time a number of years ago.
That is a valuable piece of vinyl you have there. Online dealers (most not from the US) have this on sale for between 50 and 300 dollars. I have never seen a copy in all my years collecting.
There was a CD issued a few years ago that had most of that album and a few extras. I am not even sure that is available any more.
I have been searching for this song quite literally for YEARS!!! thanks for posting it, brings back GREAT memories for me! I have their lp, but nothing to play it on :(
apparently , the singer had a low charter in the 1960`s by a group called eternity`s children...................in the 1970`s he lead a group called STARBUCK...............THEIR SMASH HIT was MOONLIGHTFEELS RIGHT.....................
I was just 21 years old, when this song came out, fresh out of bootcamp: NTTC, San Diego, CA. At the time, I was debating on whether I should buy Korona's cassette or Pablo Cruise's-"Place In The Sun." I went with PC, a good choice, but I suffered the consequence of never being able to ever find this song on the internet. I'm glad Bruce Blackman is considering releasing more Starbuck material. This song brings back great memories of my Sailor days. Love Bruce's voice too-original and uncommon!
I love this song. Thanks for posting! I sent an e-mail to Bruce Blackman inquiring about the availability of this song, and he said that more Starbuck/Korona material will be released this year.
Yes Starbuck was an East Coast band. I believe they were from the Baltimore area - I was living in Maryland when "Moonlight Feels Right" came out. They make references to Baltimore and the Chesapeake Bay in that song.
It got some play in at least one place on East Coast - I first heard it while living in Saratoga Springs, New York in 1980. It seems like the station played it at least several times.
I have been looking for this song forever. I was spelling it 'C'orona while googling, no doubht that was part of the problem.
Thank you very much for uploading this song! I´ve been looking for it through internet for ages, I finally found it. Lovely song, brings good memories to me.
Wow, I haven't heard this since '80, never knew who it was by. Minor airplay in Southern California at that time. Starbuck came out of Atlanta in 1974.
It reached #50, so it must have received airplay someplace. It may have been only a West Coast hit... which is funny since Starbuck was an East Coast band if my memory is correct. I have seen the 45 up for auction and selling for $20 to $30.
This got some airplay in Eastern North Carolina in 80....Great song should have been bigger.

The other member of Starbuck on the Korona album with Bruce Blackmon is Bob Gauthier, from DeRidder, Louisiana.

Bummer. I took the track and digitally remastered it yesterday. Let me know if you want the mp3 of it.
