Nice trick...... Toy rocket in the tube and someone else shooting a tanerite block on top of a bucket with gasoline and water down in the range, for those that never fired a REAL LAW 66mm Anti tank rocket may believe.....LOL
@arakuzi, Yep - it says simulation in the description, was still fun. I was told it was a practice rocket - and the Tannerite, Daniel Tanner himself donated the product, was electronically detonated with a cap by another licensed demolitions guy.
Thanks for the comment! I usually compress my audio to keep it consistent instead of the correct dynamics of real life. That said, the audio from the inert laws training rocket was taken from a close by camera, and the 100 pounds of "product" was more than 400 yards away...
Explosions are not always what you hear on your TV network action shows or video games. This was a minor dust explosion, not a several container buildings filled with fast cutting boom. Plus the diaphragms of the mics could not capture the impact sound which set off car alarms in all directions. All in all, however, it was quite fun.
"The great RKM doing what he did best, impress the crowd and blow hats off. With a little help from Mr. Tanner, and Iron Mike, Dry Creek was a fun time. LAWS Rocket simulation."
Maybe it's a strange YouTube fluke. There was another guy who didn't see it a year ago.
Damn! Looked more powerful than I thought. I know it doesn't work against modern tanks, but it should still be good agianst lite AFV's, older tanks, and low flying helicopters.
totally unrealistic though :-) this is a hollywood style small charge bursting a bag of petrol. love to see the real thing, the thump would be much bigger, and no cheesy fireball!

@devious575, You're right. Thanks for picking up on that. However, Ron was such a good guy, we're going to let it slide.

I was there with RKM at Dry Creek 2002-2003.
Ron (RKM) was a great friend! RIP brother! He is missed by all his friends and family.
He passed away in a motorcycle traffic accident in July 6, 2006.

Yes, MG shooters had a nice shoot for him. I've never seen so many flares and tracers in the 15 mad minutes. I'm sure he saw it. It lit up the night.

rob762x51 3 years ago
so to get around the ammo requiring a $200 tax stamp it's just a dummy rocket hitting a lot of tannerite?
