If only they could fit this into a pair of sunglasses... I'd get a motorcycle, a leather jacket and a false german accent and pretend to be the Terminator.
AR will take off when we dont need our mobile devies to see it. Couple layar with contacts, eye implants, or glasses, and BAM you have a media revolution. I support this!
Is there any significance to how very little of we see of actual augments in this video? It seems we see more of the backside of the mobile devices when people are waving the camera around than we do the displays showing content. If Layar is a great product then show it off instead of having us listen to the founders spout propaganda.
Video is 3 people saying the same uninformative things intercut with a couple playing with their phone. There is no real explanatipn of the app, nor any useful footage of how it works
A promotional video that didn't say what the thing actually is, or does. I watched this video to find out what layar was. Now I have to go watch another video to find out. Layar itself wouldn't tell me in their own video.
@funkoner that would take some time... a screen may work, but it has to have some kind of computational device, which would be too large and irritate your eyes. glasses, yeah... contacts, no.
People seem to miss the point. This will probably be used for finding information about your surroundings quickly, like when your on a vacation or such. This isn't intended to replace the real world, just to add more depth to it for certain applications. AR gaming is pretty awesome on the android as well, however.
It's neat, but I haven't found a single use for it. So the question remains Layar: Where will this fit into everyday use? Because as of right now, my answer is "It doesn't".
I want to work with these mad visionaries - and that is the biggest compliment I can give with words. Visionary Balls. Thank you. "We got crazy shit on there."
I think augmented reality has a bright future, however i never use the layer app. Its cool to show off to friends, but it's impractical, i rather have a map instead of moving the phone in front of me... i look like an idiot.
When are you coming with the augmented reality "lenses"? :-)
This is a great overview of what the Layar developers are working on now and what this type of technology could do in the future. Here you have a great company who has brought together developers from all over the world to innovate beyond what the Layar team could have done on their own. We are happy to be part of the Layar family. Cheers!
Nice job guys! We'd love to work on something with you. :)

Prefered your first video, we must see what layar does, not so much backoffice. Anyway good job.
Will be waiting for new releases.

Quite nice, so far you won't miss a beautiful landscape by looking at the phone instead of watching the real thing :-)
But I see many useful apps for this technology, wonderful ideas.
