Thats how great lines to songs are written, the listener could get a whole lot from that line alone, I was one of those guys who could never dance, so I make 'em dance instead!!

variation in the melody.

If i could give a suggestion-

From 'in my younger days, i was a simple man' to 'living life was easy' i think it would sound amazing if you went up on the 2nd part and then brought your voice back down. and do the same thing for every other verse. just to give it a little "punch"
