I loved some of the story filler in this game.. Like the final battle against dracula in 1999 and such. Like with the zombie soldiers, commanders, and grenadiers. "cause that just shows how epic dracula's 'last stand' was
i started to do a 100% soul speed run of this gane but then i stopped for two reason the mandagora would give me its fucking soul and i got lost in the floating garden but i still beat the game i just stopped recording
Well stupid thing won't let me send you a link, but I posted a video of the slide technique. You can check my vids. It's the only one up. It's called "Castlevania AOS Slide Technique".
I'm on a keyboard, since I don't have a way to record from GBA or PSP. I'm not great on the keyboard, but you'll get the idea when you watch the vid. If you can make your hops small, you go very fast. Sliding is certainly a must use for speedruns.
I should be doing a speedrun of this game sometime.
Unless you're talking about Dawn of Sorrow. The difference is that in Aria, you're going through Dracula's Caslte, but in Dawn of Sorrow, you're going through the headquarters of cult.
I have to disagree. While Dawn of Sorrow is pretty good, the pace of that game seems slower than Aria of Sorrow. I also tend to prefer the music ans sound effects in Aria of Sorrow compared to Dawn of Sorrow, especially the level up sounds. But that's just my opinion and everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, right?
I love this Castlevania speed run, and not only this, but every other, mostly because the hard part of doing a run of Castlevania is that part of the game is to level up (a lot), and if you're in a hurry, this part gets very hard, my applause.
This game has awesome graphics! It feels like everything on the screen is alive. And the music is also very good. Compared to Dawn of Sorrow this is still great but DoS is better. But it's like comparing CV1 with Super CV4
DYK, hard mode makes not stronger enemies. No, it makes Soma weaker (i.e. enemies less damage, Soma takes more damage, etc.)
If you survive the castle's corridors, however, you'll find more rewards.

like if its a atk type soul does the dmg increase?
CrapAintNice 2 years ago
i have wondering about 1 thing on this game.
if you get the same soul 2 times does that mean that the ability that that soul gives increases?
CrapAintNice 2 years ago
nope, that's only in Dawn of Sorrow
However, there is a soul called Headhunter (It's a boss) which increases your stats depending on the total number of souls you have
mifdsam 2 years ago
Actually every 120 souls you have, it gives 1 stat for all stats (unless defense)

Hey, nice run. You can speed it up though, if you use your slide. The recovery on the slide is long, but you can cancel it with a jump.
I'll post a vid of the technique so you can see it, though I'll be using a keyboard, so don't expect perfection.
I might just have to do a speedrun sometime.

SuperEAGLEMan10 3 years ago
Using a gameboy player on the gamecube you simply route the video feed out to a recording device instead of your TV. :)

I finished this game some days ago at lvl 19. I've started a Hard mode and I'm aiming for beating Chaos under lvl 15.

I would like to know something, what is the difference between aria of sorrow, and minuet of dawn?
redmetal2 4 years ago
...
There's no such game as Minuet of Dawn...
Unless you're talking about Dawn of Sorrow. The difference is that in Aria, you're going through Dracula's Caslte, but in Dawn of Sorrow, you're going through the headquarters of cult.
BM2341 3 years ago
'Minuet of Dawn' is the Jap. title to 'Aria of Sorrow'. It's the same game just that the title is changed when it comes over.

IMO i think this one is better than the ds one the anime look doesnt look good on castlevania games
fuckahater07 4 years ago 7
Yeah. Anime and Castlevania just doesn't mix well. But I think DoS is more fun to play because it's bigger and it has better music(most of the time).
