Mike Wilhite Blue Blazes blows up at Tanner, Alabama Tractor Pull

Blue blazes is one of the best pullers i know! I remember him now bein around for a while after this happened but he is back strong jus like before! cant wait to see him again in February! :)

What's up with the firefighters running up with NOTHING in their hands????? That is one of the BASIC rules of firefighting!! The first guy has a decent size can, but the guy with the extinguisher the size of a spray paint can needs to throw that thing in the trash!! BIG EXTINGUISHERS, and LOTS OF THEM!!!

I also am glad to hear Mikes doing ok i was sitting right in front of his tractor when it blew up and have it all on video i recorded it with my blackberry phone and cant seem to upload it.But most importantly is that Mikes ok keep us updated on his recovery thanks.

My husband and I are Emt's with the volunteer fire dept. at Tanner and we were out on the track as soon as it happened. Glad to see he is doing well. It could have been really bad. Hope you come back to Tanner next year.

Glad to hear Mike is doing OK, I have been Tractor Pulling all of my Life, I have seen several explosions but I believe that is one of the worst I have seen in recent years. Just glad Mike is ok, the tractor can be fixed take care of him and get him well hope to see him at a pull sometime soon. Eric Prewitt

My wife and I were there and saw this happen right in front of where we we sitting. We were very concerned about your dad. Glad to hear he's just sore but I was horrified when I realized there was no shield on his helmet. Tell him we hope he makes a speedy recovery and thanks for being part of the pull there at Tanner.

I'm glad you found this, there was a guy at the track last night standing with the tractor after the explosion, and I asked him about getting in touch with your dad so he could have a copy of the video. Let me know if he wants me to email him a copy.

@94onspray this is Katie Wilhite, i got a new youtube account. He doesn't have the video of the tractor exploding on DVD or anything, he just comes on youtube to watch it every now & then. He rebuilt the tractor within 2 weeks, he was pretty dedicated to it...But I think he learned his lesion about having the face mask pulled down lol...He's now won like almost every pull he's been too or came in second..He said the tractor now is the best tractor he has ever built & ran
