Intelligent causation doesn't imply a "theistic" God. Rather it reasons that features of the world imply agency to its causation. (i.e. F.Crick, "directed panspermia"-aliens). Features of that agent are unspecified and varied-seen in varying design theories/arguments. Scientists are split on the idea of agency & abiogenesis.

Evolution is indeed science and there are loads of proofs that it is right. Search all over the Internet or read some biology books. At least scientists, who aren't all atheists, did some research. ID supporters are just ass-holes who can't accept that what the Bible says is not how the world works. I'm a religious man, too. Not the most convincing argument against ID I've heard! Ken Miller and Richard Dawkins are the "go-to" guys for an explanation. Dismissing ID proponents as "retards" isn't helpful. I agree with your sentiments, deadlogic. Why teach something in schools as a 'science' when it has no scientific basis whatsoever? You can't separate ID from religion, hence the farcical Flying Spaghetti Monster debacle - if you want to teach ID, you'd better teach that the the FSM is just one possible designer, along with the Invisible Pink Unicorn.
