I can't believe how uninformed people really are. The Nazi Party is called The National Socialist German Workers' Party. Look up what socialist things the Nazis wanted to give to all Aryan people struggling in the Great Depression before WW2.
When the Nazis weren't trying to kill off all races of people except Aryan people. They were also trying to point out "Nazi ideology" stressing "the failures of laissez-faire capitalism, communism, economic liberalism, and democracy". Sound familiar?

But Nazism was opposed to democracy, while Marx saw democracy and socialism as parent and child. The right-left scale is hopeless. The extreme right label is typically used for ideologies cherishing our most base divisive psychological traits. It's no obvious extension of wanting tax cuts so I see why econ conservatives dislike the connection. Don't make Nazis a bit progressive though.
