  • that guy in teh back. he's like, fucking yes, I'm gonna be in a FYB video, Gonna serve with federer!!

  • 4th serve was the bast :>

  • This is the stuff legends are made of

  • Today I was taught something, check out his left hand, always going in.

  • i had to watch this video three times

    GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • deja vu like twice

  • Hi WILL, this type of video, with different side of views really help.

    amazing...

    thanks a lot, super stuff...

  • far right shot rules - it confirms for me from :03-:04 how he bends his wrist as he brings up his racquet into the trophy position

  • in the middle screen the guy behind federer hits so much slower! and federer's just practising casually hah.

  • 2 right ones are kick serve

  • For a power serve on the first serve, wouldn't he pronate less? and drive more up and forward? Also from this video it appears that his body falls over more to the side and forward rather than just forward, which would mean he is tossing the ball closer to above his head for a kick rather than forward into the court which would make him fall a good 3 steps forward into the court. Im just guessing based on what i see. Anyone see different, then please pass your input.

  • Pronation offers more velocity. To get more consistency Roger would hit up more, and to get more velocity Roger would hit through it more. However, there is no circumstance where less pronation offers more velocity (for Roger).

  • @liud128 Precisely. Pronation brings the ball down in the court within the confines of the service box. Pace is adjusted by the contact point more forward = less spin, more power. More over the head =less forward velocity, more spin. Some pros/ams adjust left to right also to control kick/slice. Pete Sampras and Roger Federer both go for a consistent toss but adjust their contact points with the ball to adjust spin/slice. Pete's toss was probably his single biggest weapon. It hid his intentions.

  • it IS the second serve; nobody said it was the first serve. Unless whatever

  • Wow, your input was fantastic. Thanks so much. Genius!

  • Question for someone with good knowledge of serves. Looking at this video, the screen on the left and the one on the right look like top spin/ kick serves to me. Someone said they are all different kinds of serves but i noticed that on all of them he is driving up on the ball more than forward and also noticed that he is driving with the edge of the frame and then has a lot of pronation starting at contact and then through the motion. can anyone clarify if they see the same thing?

  • Roger Federer Best. Love you Roger

  • @federerbestclass Gay comment. Please use your brain a bit

  • The right one is a kickserve

  • The left one looks flat, middle slice and far right kicker too me.

  • wow nice

  • im sure the far right one is a kick, jsut look at where the ball is tossed

  • they're all slice serves

  • And look at the way the racquet meets the ball, obviously a kick serve

  • Federer almost always tosses the ball in the same place (it's part of his extraordinary deception).

  • This looks like a kicker Oo

  • lol the ball from the middle behind federer confused me, but oh well you get to see 3 federer serves and one more from a mystery player LMAO

  • HAha the mystery player might be Davydenko

  • gee idk that racquet looks like a wilson

  • Very nice movements. It is incredible how Fed creates speed with so few pronation, compared to Sampras.

  • Ooooooooo. This is VERY insightful.

Pleeeeeease do one for the forehand (if you can find 3 that are the same type of forehand that is)!

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Lol, in the middle serve, look at the guy behind the fence.

  • thats another match and its tursonov vs some1 else

  • @Sodasam what the one serving? That looks kinda like Murray

  • really great idea! you get a look from all angles.

  • Was that a kick serve? I cant tell if he was pronating.. (except the serve on the left)

  • I'm fairly sure those were all his flat serve.

  • The left and right ones are kick, probably center one too.I can see how he accelerates the racket diagonally up on the ball - a sure sign of kick or twist.

  • its a kick serve all right you can tell because his arm goes outward forming that U shape in his arm

  • Awesome stuff, Will.

  • cool

  • Hey Will thanks.
