im 40 and grew up in the 80s david and metal church are my personal favorites
there first release and the dark are old school classics i still get chills listening to them after 25 years. im a man but i will say i love you man. r.i.p.
ditto all, i cant wait to sing backup for him in my room in heaven, he wore the cross as i do but also a dislike for organized religion....i see lots of parables in his song and parable is the highest thinking..rip mr. wayne..all the great ones are appreciated more after their death..

THE Voice of the Church!!! all his followrers could not match up to him!!!! Thank you David for your work on Metal Church, The Dark, Reverend, World won't miss you and Play God!
I loved David as much as all of you, and this is a touching song, but not near his best. Ballad wise, "Watch the Children Pray" is spellbinding....and not that i think it gained much popularity but 'Into Dust" is also much better...RIP Mr. Wayne, the world will miss you...
I have spent the last 4 years of my life finding Metal Church/Reverend/Wayne rarities and bootlegs. David Wayne is my idol and the reason i play music.

I ONLY KNOW THAT THIS GUY HAS MADE FOR ME SOME OF THE NICEST METAL MOMENTS IN MY LIFE, I DID NOT KNOW THAT HE DIED, BUT ONLY HERE HIS MUSIC AND VOICE AND LIRYCS ARE SOME OF THE BEST, HE IS PROBABLY JAMING WITH JHON BONHAM JHON ENTWISTLE HENDRIX AND RONNIE JAMES DIO AT HEAVEN HAVING GREAT TIME, METALCHURCH!!!!
Thank you everyone for all your amazing praises to my dad. (I was only 10 in '85 so- not a big follower of his music) To see how many people enjoyed him is awesome. You all are the reason why he did it.
His body took a toll from all the... eerr.. "experiences" he had. A collision slammed his car from behind into on- coming traffic. He survived, but couldn't recover. I can't wait to see him again.
I personally knew David when he practiced in Tacoma at my studio. I was his friend and photographer, Suza Marie. We went to church a couple times so I heard him sing hymns and he liked to fly kites too. He was a lot of fun with his crazy stories.
He even came to a party after first meeting him with his acoustic guitar and sang songs like hotel california, got the photo still...all my friends were blown away. He was pretty cool and down to earth. This is using a couple of my photos, one was for his memorial...he was flirting with me which is how I captured that look in his eyes. :) ~Suzanne
@RockinXsk8terXchick (Suzanne)- He always did have a way with the ladies ;) those pictures you took are beautiful. Thank you. I believe I use one for personal use. Thank you!!
I just to say you're father inspired me so much in metal. He was one of the greatest metal singer of all. Even though I was too young myself to know at the time. It is the greatest feeling to listen to him sing everytime
@Yenlee69- I hear that a lot. I never had the opportunity to see him perform live. He did sing over the phone and around the campfire at family reunions though. (maybe not quite the same as rocking out, but still his voice none the less) :)
@Tonyalee777 it doesnt seem that long ago, I moved to Kirkland in '86. And 'Watch the children pray' was the first song I heard. I bought the cassette and immediately loved the Seattle metal scene. Never met your dad but met a few others fomr the band as well as other bands in the area. All of them are a very tight knit group of musicians that look out for one another. But your dad's music is what changed my life.
@Tonyalee777 your father is one of the best all time singers! he's voice in gods of wrath is the best! it is one of the best songs of all time!!! i still play that song at least 2 time's a week! from metal church to wayne-metal church he was the best thank you an your family an may David Wayne for ever rock us all in heaven!!!! r.i.p. David Wayne
Nicely done, thank-you. I saw Metal Church in 1986 in Vancouver, BC as Metal Church opened for Metallica at the good old Pacific Coliseum. He had a truly great voice, that I will never forget. Sad indeed about his untimely passing.
One of the most underrated metal singers EVER! You are missed David Wayne.
