My music teacher got a new piano delivered to his music room. After several hours putting it together, he sits down at the piano, and turns it on. Everyone who's doing extra music all crowd around.
Congratulations! All the members of the orchestra look very professional. I don't care if other compositors are more difficult, you all did a great job!
that's a very good interpretation - there are professional orchestras that play much worse... if I think at our Weber- Bassoon Concerto - that's a level that we won't reach in five years practicing that peace - fantastic!
god DAMNIT lol you scaled up that piano at the begining like ALL HELL god, I can't wait till I can do even half of that speed that you just used rofl.. well I'm getting better, but it's a lonnnng time before I get as good as you :s
As good as it gets live. Unless he and the orchestra went into a studio and recorded... at which point I would TOTALLY buy the finished product =D This guy is awesome!
Hey, I am learning this piece also.... how long did it take you to learn? your playing is amazing-- I'm going to watch this a lot to help with my sound!
i always find it funny when in the audience seeing the vast contrast between the 1st and 2nd violin sections; the firsts are always more convincing and you can tell by the way they move with the music they are good and they know it. then you look at the seconds and you understand why they are more hidden; all rigid and unconvincing.
In defense of 2nd violins: It might be true that in school orchestras, where the newcomer violinists usually start as 2nds, the 2nd violins are less experienced, confident, whatever. But the 2nds also usually get the less attractive parts, whereas the 1st violins get the melodies - no wonder THOSE move with the music!
Wow, and this is "just" a school orchestra... :O. I can't belive... Is this a music school ot sth like that? 'Cause you're very good in my (layman's) opinion.
Update: Got the entire composition in the mail today, so I'll be off at work! And I can barely read sheet, but I'll do my best! I'll post a video response when I'm done. How old are you, by the way?
you've got to be fucking kidding me! This guy (kid?) did an extremely well performance along with his orchestra, and I just think he did this piece Justice. he inspired me to buy the sheet and learn the song!!! AWESOME job, man. How old are you?
This is better than some of the professionals. (I'm referring to the pianist) So young to perform a concerto. I've never seen someone this young play Grieg Piano Concerto in A Minor before. It's astounding.
Leon Fleisher played this work in Carnegie Hall under the baton of Leonard Bernstein and the New York. He was eleven at the time. John Williams played Fantasia para un Gentilhombre in the same venue (Bernstein, etc.) at age 17. At that time Andres Segovia said, "A prince of the guitar has arrived in the musical world; John Williams...God has laid a finger on his brow etc"
Brilliant, my overal favourite classical peice of all time, edvard greig was a genious.. i loved it so much, i learnt to play this all the way though using my lovely steinway.
I LOVE GRIEG SO MUCH!

does anyone now if ther is a piano tutorial on this song especially the begining intro to the song
5tuntman99 3 years ago
unfortunately, the grieg is a very difficult piece. I'd imagine many of those who post tutorials cannot play the Grieg.
futureactuary24 3 years ago 5
the intros not hard
and grieg isn't nearly as hard as rachmaninoff or prokofiev
and you can simplify it, and substitute some of the chords with loudness
