  • I love the worshipfulness of this song. Christ is truly worthy of our praise, and the author of this song knew that.

  • Lovely.

  • Aoife Ní Fhearraigh is truly the greates!

  • @larryharvey12 add me too!

  • Such melodious singing. I can imagine this is how the early Irish Christians sang during worship.

  • Comment removed

  • And this is how the current Irish Christians STILL sing during worship : ) when you're lucky. We're alive and kicking!!

  • @kenochie thanks be to God that it is still being sung by the present Irish generation. Traditional hymns such as this are our priceless heritage and should be preserved for generations to come. There are a few Irish hymns and tunes in our hymnal but I have not come across this one yet. Maybe it is time that we petition it to be added into our hymnal.

  • @brandenburg2388 we should do that!!! Ireland has some of the best music on Earth along with some of the best musicians and I think it's about time both were recognised as such!! I only discovered Irish music after my family left Ireland but whenever I here it I feel the call of the land of my fathers and it plays on my heart strings, wish I could bring us home!

  • @TheGhostofCasper I guess the Irish spirit lives on in the hearts of her sons and daughters.

  • @brandenburg2388 A pity Irish heritage is being...erased. after all, the doctrine of multiculturalism dictates that other cultures supersede your culture.

  • @Aresolar690 what a pity indeed, mo chara. To see a uniquely rich culture that took well over 2 thousand years to developed, is being erased over these last few decades. Will Irish traditional music, folksongs and language fade away into oblivion, I really don't know but it is not too late to do something about it. We can multi this and that on other things but not on culture.

  • @brandenburg2388 Everything must be done to save something so beautiful. I think a civilization does best when it unites behind a single true culture. It will never die though, there will always be people to protect tradition and heritage.

  • Simply Beautiful!

  • It eased my heart when I got all but in vain...

  • uanem ra pall... in napoletan lenguage

  • uanem ra pall... in napoletan lenguage

  • Nádhera .-)

  • Totally OUTSTANDING! so very love Irish culture. It brings me great joy being irish. So proud to be irish!

  • Great song and voice! Verses are very smilar to those of the Psalms... So to say - very biblical and liturgical...

  • It almost sounds like "go h-úird" is a form of "go h-ard" -- but I could be wrong; anyone else help? It kind of makes sense, considering the context

  • hay kid you could WHIN MY LOVE AWAY

  • The first time I heard this song I was so moved that I wept. Aoile sings from her heart and soul, and she sings like an angel, which is a cliche but in her case is true.

  • Thanks so much for this, Sportymike! Really, really needed this lovely song just now!

  • Such a sweet song.....lovely voice.

  • Absolutely Beautiful!

The song by itself is very lovely, but of course, recognizing Allelu, THEN reading the translation the 2nd time playing adds to the worship... thanks for a moment of blessing in a crazy day!

(Now if I can just LEARN THE LANGUAGE MYSELF!!!)

  • It's Celtic and there are not many that can translate. I do love these old hymns, but I don't understand them much either. I'm from Texas and we have enough trouble with English;-)

  • @normansoftexas this is funny....lol Since English is becoming a problem in Texas, what of trying some Spanish? Then you can do the "Spanienlgish" thing...lol

  • the lyrics/translations r on the side panel

    peace in your soul

    and joy in your life.

  • Why do you feel the need to pollute this post with your views? While you are of course free to have them, why do you feel the need to hurt others? Does a simple song of praise disturb you that much?

  • just beautiful.

  • Irish music is like a never-ending diamond mine. You think you know it all, but then something else comes along to knock your socks off !!

  • If there's anything more beautiful, send it to me.
