  • Back when KSDK was THE station to watch for local news in St. Louis. Now, it has become a mess, and has turned into "KS-Decay"

  • Dick Ford still looks the same from the 80's.

  • Great theme song !

  • This was just after Ford and Foss were paired up...this lasted quite awhile on various newscasts. By this time, KSDK and KSD radio were separately owned. But the were both originally owned by the Post-Dispatch.

  • Question: KSDK's website says that the call sign changed from KSD to KSDK in 1983, when Multimedia took over the station. This clip, though, obviously proves them wrong. Does anyone know when and why? Also, when did KSD(K) change their logo from 1979's rainbow 5 to the one seen here, and from this one to the current logo? I know that the current logo (minus the background) was in use in 1985. Thank you.

  • I think they added the "k" in 1981. It's funny how their website is wrong!

  • I seem to recall something that they added the "K" to distinguish the TV station

from KSD Radio, which was part of the same group. I believe the radio station in St louis still uses KSD as its call-letters.

  • That sounds about right. It's been so long though....

  • Do you have any episodes of Today in St.Louis from the 80's?

  • I, too, love it. Do you have anymore local news clips?

  • @DerrickLee2006 I just posted a Newsbeat from 1980 with Dick Ford & John Auble if you're interested.

  • Love it!!!
