What I think is the meaning to this video is that the crack on the driver said window resembles he has done done somthing wrong and that he has made a mistake the part in the petrol station shows him walking away as in he's leaving and she follows and when they look in the trunk is their past and them burning it means they are leaving it behind them and don't want the past back

it doesn't exactly matter what is in the car...if you listen to the lyrics the song is about leaving your life for love. the video shows that no matter how much pain love causes us we instinctly choose love.

i dont know if im right but what i thinkwat is going on is that the guy shilo has just killed someone and he shows her brittay what hes done so the only way to get rid of the body is to burn the car (windshield cracked 1:56 ie hit a person?) so thats why shes crying and hes why he looks so pissed. and to prove her love to him shes helping dispose of the body even though she knows its wrong. their love prevails.
