I am not sure whether my wife will get an open work permit and will enjoy same status as in Canada. Even though I have some bitter experiences here, I still think Canada is the best place

not only that , Govt of Canada is paying universal child benefit...For a international student what better can be....I have a possibility of moving to New Zealnad for Ph.D....but when I compare the two country, I always find Canada bettter...In New Zealand, every student on study permit has to have health check up after three years...even if intention may be good, isolating a group is discrimination...

For international student, New Zealand is not the best best place. Immigration rules are very strict and future after study is too insecure.....Canada on the other hand appears to be better place. At least, immigration rules are not that strict. I came here for post graduation...I am in university, my wife is working with open work permit (even when my wife does not have any hi fi education) and my son is in school.....

Good luck finding supervision if you wish to do higher education- make sure you get it in writing before relocating- may find yourself without being able to do a degree there and having to relocate elsewhere. Victoria, Otago and Auckland better.
