I saw this on Atom Films,like,ten years ago.  I thought from seeing photos of Sam from Trick r' Treat that he looked like the kid from this short. Eventually I read in Fangoria that Michael Dougherty did in fact make this short, and that it actually was the same character. Awesome.

when the fight scene in the alley is done and theres a close up of sams face, theres spots on his face which is blood. seeing that this was all drawings and no computer animation, michael dougherty needed blood splatter and it just so happened that he accidently cut his hand and flicked it on to the drawing. lol, so that blood splatter is real blood. It's sad. It was orignally supposed to be released in October of 2007, but Warner Brothers pulled it and didn't give a reason as to why. I was SO looking forward to it! D=

People speculated it was because the director co directed Return of Superman that didn't do too well, or that it was because of the release of Saw VI.

But they're finally going to release it October 9th! I'm glad they finally decided to released it!

Right on. These old school animations definitely bring me back to the good old days of being a kid. Even more so the good old feel of the spooky Halloween season. Crisp cool air, fallen leaves, jack-o-lanterns, ghosts and gobins...this video got it all spot on. Lord I love Halloween. :)
