This movie was amazing, The performances, and the story it told. Like it's soo relatable, and like everyone has that moment where you have do what's best for yourself and leave your family behind. Its his life, and we shouldn't change it just because its the usual underdog story...its much more than that.

I absolutely loved this movie. If Christian Bale doesn't get the Oscar, Jeremey Renner should get it, And if HE doesn't get it, The Academy is screwed up. Melissa Leo definitley should get the Oscar. I liked Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch, but he was overshadowed by Bale and Leo. It felt like Mark was there just to move the movie along. Overall, it was my favorite movie of 2010 and if you say you don't like it because it's"cliche and a Rocky ripoff" I would gladly invite you to go fuck yourself.

Christian Bale was great, but the only reason why the movie works for large scale audiences is because no one knows shit about boxing anymore. Being completely jaded by the fact that I actually follow boxing and know Micky Wards career, it was painful at how historically inaccurate this movie was. Plus the idea of the WBU title meaning anything was laughable. Ward is only known for upsetting Gatti in their first bout and losing in his one shot at an actual title.

What you look for is directing(how the movie was shot, where and such, how the actors acted, and the mood it sets in) AND this movie is a true story, so many people already know it. If knowing a movie's storyline beforehand is enough to ruin a movie for you, then there's no need for you to ever spend money to watch a movie, just read it off wikipedia or something.
