  • Sweet Fiddles!!

  • @GodsFavoriteBassPlyr BANJOS ARE BETTER!!!!!! haha the fiddles are a nice touch in the pure awesomeness of the banjo.

  • @MeatIsbetter (shhh... I agree, but didn't want to say anything... you know how 'sensitive' the fiddlers get ;)

    Thanks!

(for the record.. it's really the Bass that carries the show!)

  • @GodsFavoriteBassPlyr :) If the French Horn were in there it would so own... Just wondering, do you play anything else besides bass?

  • @MeatIsbetter I started on guitar age 11, and still flatpick - learned from the Oleee Timers.. old plank floors, Franklin wood stoves and music all night long - great way to grow up. I was about 12 years, and one day someone brought in the biggest instrument I'd ever seen - and when it filled up the room with low notes I was Hooked! Been doing bluegrass, swing and gypsy ever since! And you... Banjer only?

  • @GodsFavoriteBassPlyr I play Piano, French Horn, (if you count it) Jew's Harp, and I'm learning to play the Banjo.

  • two great fiddle players

  • clear as the waters of the allegheny mountains

  • For all us would be mandolin players... notice his right hand moving, nothing else. No elbows, shoulders, etc..

  • Wow! That's wonderful! It's really cool how those fiddlers keep their timing together!

  • bill is the greatest....

  • I love the way Mr. Monroe lifts the mandolin in the B part. What a great tune, and thanks for posting.

  • are their any albums of all these guys together...minus Bill I guess since he was a guest

  • how has no one mentioned Dan Crary on guitar

  • wish mark would play more bluegrass nowdays

  • gorgeous--I forgot that song had a melody

  • tony's version from church street blues is pretty killer too

  • Awesome. Byron aand Mark with Bill on mando and Jerry on dobro. As a multi-instrumentalist it don't get no better.

  • That's what heaven is like.

  • You got that right! Thanks for reconizing pure mucical greatness! A++++

  • Look at Monroes hands. Ancient but still playin' it right. I hope I get to heaven just so I can pick with old Bill.

  • Jerry Douglas on dobro

  • Guys, this as good as it gets!

  • Damn that was Great!!!!!!!

  • Bill Monroe was the greatest bluegrass musician ever and his idea of what the music should be was awesome. No wonder he succeeded to such a super degree! Bill - America thanks you!

  • This brings back such awesome memories of The Father of Bluegrass, a group of great musicians and a great tune. Thanks for sharing.

  • I'd be so damn nervous if I had to play along side of the legendary father of bluegrass himself.

  • The"guy" is Byron Berline, one of our grand national fiddle champions. And the other fiddler is Mark O'conner, also one of our grand national champs! It doesnt get any better than this!!!

  • Also a former Bluegrass Boy.

  • The guy says here is a man that has been in bluegrass along time. He started it. BIG MON = THE FATHER OF BLUEGRASS

  • the dobro player sucked everything up almost

  • Superb. Seven stars!

  • Mark O'Connor? I thought it was Tex Logan !!!

  • Bill needed a band like this! He's in his element with these great players.

  • In Answer to chilcootgirl's question as to who the dobro player is on this video.Look very closely and you will see a young Jerry Douglas.I hope this answers your question.

  • Fiddles are Byron Berline & Mark O'Connor, banjo is John Hickman, Dan Crary on guitar. I can't ID the dobro player right offhand.

  • Why was Bill's break edited?

  • The show came to an end.

  • With Bill still picking a mando solo???

  • I think he played an extra

"A" part and the band followed him.
