@filthyjuden I think what he did was great. The fan needed to learn some respect. It's fucking rude to run up onstage do what that fan did! Maynard took it easy on him too. That throw was controlled and pretty gentle. Any humiliation that guy may have felt was washed away by how awesome of a moment that was. Either way, I think he may have learned a lesson. True, but Maynard doesn't need to play instruments to be a genius. And without Maynard, Tool is no more. Just like if you take out Danny, Justin or Adam out of the equation. They're perhaps the most steady, equilibrated band out there right now. But Maynard is highly intellegent. He has a gift. His lyrics are deep, profound, witty, creative and fresh, he uses the climaxes well, he always nails the right tone for the right part of the song. He's certainly highly intelligent.
I'm not too sure about what Maynard has been through in his life, but I can forgive him for his behavior. The choice innevitably comes down to you, whether or not you'll be shaken by his acts or insults. Guns N Roses I don't listen to because Axl is gratuitously mean because of an inflated ego. Maynard is a genius. He really is. Sometimes, however, there's a fine line between genius and mentally ill. Not saying he's crazy, just saying he deserves a certain amount of respect.
Different people deal with different situations differently. Maynard acts the way he acts because of his issues, others will seek attention, others will beat their kids and spouse and others will stuff it inside and kill themselves slowly. There's no right or wrong way of doing it. Walk a mile in someone's shoes before judging them... I firmly believe in that saying.

Frickin' hilarious. The guy got what he had coming, jumping up on stage and getting in Maynard's space like that. Maynard did what a decent guy would - he took the guy down (without injuring him, it looks like, or doing anything more than neutralizing a potentially dangerous situation), and then used the situation to put on an awesome show for the crowd. All without missing a beat - he even kept singing when he had the guy wrapped up. One more reason why Maynard's awesome.

All I know is me and the missus saw Tool at Shoreline in the Bay area about six or seven years ago and a kid from the Make-A-Wish foundation came out and banged on the drums with Tool for a song or two. True, but Maynard doesn't need to play instruments to be a genius. And without Maynard, Tool is no more. Just like if you take out Danny, Justin or Adam out of the equation. They're perhaps the most steady, equilibrated band out there right now. But Maynard is highly intellegent. He has a gift. His lyrics are deep, profound, witty, creative and fresh, he uses the climaxes well, he always nails the right tone for the right part of the song. He's certainly highly intelligent.

The choice innevitably comes down to you, whether or not you'll be shaken by his acts or insults. Guns N Roses I don't listen to because Axl is gratuitously mean because of an inflated ego.
