Great, but how come this thing is stock and yet so fast? I love tacomas, I have one, yet I can`t believe it cause all magazines say 7.8...7.5 secs to 60.
Is this a 4x4 or a 4x2? Double cab? access cab?
I just watched one with the TRD supercharger and it did in around 5.5-6.0 secs....so I keep wondering what happened here.
I have the stats in the info - 4x4 double cab. It is pretty quick, but the supercharged 4.0 is much more powerful. Also, there might be some discrepancies in the speedometer. My GPS illustrates a 3-5 mph variance, which could be why it seems so fast.
@solterocr What Toyota needs to throw in as an option is the 4.6 v8 with the 6 speed auto or manual. That would be awsome, then the Tacoma could finaly beat a Tundra in a race. lol
@monsoon56 Yeah, I think they had a supercharged 5.7 Tacoma for SEMA I believe. Just like how they had a turo diesel dually Tundra that will never make it to production.
well my dads is 06 sr5 4x4 same engine as that and whatnot with locking differentials his was around 30 grand with 16k miles on it 6 speed Manuel and yes its pretty fast lol
There's is no auto X-Runner. LSD 6 speed manual only. It's a reenforced x-braced 4x2 frame (thus named X-Runner) with a regular v6. Why is it faster than other Tacos? It's got better power to weight ratio than any other Tacos.
yep thats is exactly as fast as mine was before any mods. You will be very happy with the supercharger. It gives the truck so much power, that I have to use 4x4 at the track or it will just sit there and spin forever. Its awesome
you can order through your dealership. Dude you would never use 4WD at track. If you have a SC your gonna be turning off your 4WD at like 40-60 mph. That isn't exactly good for it.
yeah idk why people dont believe the 6-7 sec 0-60. i was pretty surprised the night i brought mine home from the dealer. talk about a good breakin... i smoked a z71 out of a red light. yeah not much i know but still fun!

Yeah thats normal. I have 08 DC TRD OR and it is 6-7 seconds 0-60 mph. Stupid testers have said 0-60 all the way up to 10.2 seconds. Are you fucking kidding me? They probably pulled that out their ass or tested one straight out of the factory in 4 low. Lol.
I have an '05 DC 4x4 TRD Off Road with only a Flowmaster Deltaflow 50 Series muffler on it. Mine's really fast, but are you sure your Tacoma is bone stock? That speedometer shoots up there!

Maybe a 4x4 can get 7 secs stock cause my 4x2 got 8 sec 0-60 no launch, and now with my mods, I get 6.2 sec 0-60 no launch

as of now couldnt tell you exactly a new '08 last year costed about 28k incl. tax tags and everything else involved and a '09 is like 23-25k i THINK
