Hercules was a Heroic figure from Greek Mythology and Dionysus was one of the twelve Olympian gods (greek mythology again, has nothing to do with Romans), he was the god of wine and ecstasy. When Romans conquered the ancient part of Greece they adapted some of the lands culture and traditions. So the new addition to the Roman pantheon was Dionysus who took the place of Vesta among the gods
