It was a helicopter which was tethered to an array of lights in the shape of a circle UFO. It looks almost identical. IMO its a helicopter with the same set up or possibly an ultralight with a similar array.

My husband and I seen this on 50 highway on halloween as well. We were on 50 hwy going towards Lees Summit, we also seen a bright white light come down and then a huge flash!
