@swisstrainguy It's fairly straightforward to do the motor controls if you're handy with a soldering iron. A bit more tricky to do the lights in the dummy cars though as you have to fart around cutting circuits and rewiring. But for the motor car, then disconnect the existing wires from the motor terminals, which collect power from all wheels - and then connect those wires to the red and black on the dcc decoder. Then connect the grey and orange wires to the motor. And Bingo!!
It might be a bit of a trek but the model shop at Snetterton in Norfolk did it for around £99 a few months ago, and we got an additional discount for a tear or two in the box, so landed it for £84. Fitted it to DCC too, but whether DCC or analogue, it's one of the slowest trains we've got. Even my Class 142 goes quicker! Sent it back to Bachmann, and they tested and said it ran at a scale speed of 100mph, which means my Pacer will do around 150mph! Any suggestions (for the Voyager, not Pacer!)

@branchlinedisaster Thanks for the advice. I haven't tried. Haven't worked out how to with a Hornby Select unit - got an Elite on order, so will do then. But by improving the power contacts, it will perform better. I think some of these trains have shocking power transmission systems, which are very inefficient in gears and linkages or otherwise power pick-ups. My Bachmann Class 150 I tested - and found sparking around the axles - all lost power. I adapted the pick-ups and now it runs better.
Yes, music problems. On this video you can hear Leaona from Audio swap. However if you view this video via by channel you will hear Cheryl Cole (:D) 'Rain on Me' which was ment to be on this video.
yes i picked up on the audie, however it is not the fous of the video. This model is perfection down to the most meticulous detail. Very impressive. 5/5

Only place you can order 221's at the minute is from ehattons because pretty much every where else is out of stock, because Bachmann is.

Nice unit that, but I think the roof is the wrong colour?
WrongRoadRailways 2 years ago
The roof is the correct colour, XC never repainted the roofs, as they were black anyway. Well looked black from dirt.
