I got the earlier version of this set with the B12 in LNER green loco number 8544, it was my first set and got to be one of my favourite locos. I highly recommend this as a starter set to anyone looking to get into the model railway hobby.
i really like hornby, but i live in the us. from my perspective, the electrical socket in the ad looks backwards compatible. does hornby make their products backwards compatible to run with us electrical current, or do i have to buy and adaptor? and if i use an adaptor, what are the chances that my train will explode?
@brwnandfriendly Just buy the set,and run it with a U.S. controller. As far as i understand,U.S model locos are 12v DC,same as ours.Is that true?If so,your train won't explode! I don't understand what you mean by backwards compatible, but Hornby controllers only work on the British 240v system. There may be a european adaptor to work on 110v,not sure.
I've got that set. Its a biutiful train pack. I love the engine and the coachese. but the remote doesn't work with the power track. so I had to use a power clip instead.
I think I got an old version of this, because I got the engine and carridges, but in a set called "Main Line Steam"..
