  • So beautiful.

  • I heard this on The HIlls. :) <3

  • I know! I just watched it !!

  • So . i heard this song in confessions of a shopaholic. I know i heard it before. but it's a great version. I like it alot.

  • was the person holding the camera crying? i guess i would've cryed too its beautiful!!

  • Um, no, I was actually giggling a bit. Not because it isn't a beautiful cover, but because I just find the song amusing. Apologies if that disappoints people, lol.

  • I saw him play this live as well. Its difficult to recognize the song until he begins the chorus. And it really is hilarious. I remember him talking about when he decided to cover it, he set out to see how badly he could drag out the sadness of the song. And in some reguard it is a joke, yet its so beautiful that you can't help but take it seriously. Incredible song.

  • no you were crying suck me

  • Hahah. You can think I was crying if that makes you enjoy the video more. I'm surprised you feel so strongly about it suck me.

  • There would be no reason for you to be laughing and unless you were jerking off im pretty sure you were crying. Fuck my tight ass

  • I'm pretty sure I love you.

  • im pretty sure i freak ur dads tight with my slobbery MASSIVE fag

  • @monkeytail713 lol greg laswell does pretty mcuh put the lyrics together peices by peice of lines he thinks up randomly that sound good. It's not written out of the heart. So I'm pretty sure it can end up a bit amusing.

  • i actually hated this song until I heard this amazing cover. This version represents the true meaning behind the song, not some anthem about how us girls only care about having bubblegum pop fun.

  • Nothing to the Six Figure Transatlantic one.

  • PERFECT!

  • It was originally written to be sung by a male from a male point of view with a slow tempo

It was a rather sad song about a guy who could not find a meaningfull relationship with a girl (as his parents wanted him to) because they (girls) "just wanna have fun".

When Cyndi Lauper recorded it, some minor changes in the lyrics were made to give it a female point of view along with more upbeat tempo and and made it the female anthem of having fun that we all know.

  • Does anyone know if I can get this on cd, and where?

  • iTunes has it, just search Greg Laswell. They have the single version., not the live one though.

  • you can get it on itunes... it's pretty cool I think!!!

my favorite version by far.. so dark, so different!

  • this is such a beautiful version, i prefer it

  • Very different than the original one, but extremely well done! Cyndi would be very very proud!

  • the cover is beautiful, hosehead.

  • Was on the hills also

  • Funny. I'd imagine that many more people would likely consider that "Death is the best thing" for ignorant posters like you.

  • Stop being so ignorant. Just because he covered a good song doesn't mean he has too die. I'm sure if you covered it or even made a video of yourself singing it people would wish the same for you.

Stop being such ignorant idiot and be open minded music fan.

  • Yeah, I heard it on Damages, too. Damn, I'm glad I found who covered it! I concur with the previous sentiments -- Greg's version does kick ass.

  • Amazing. I just heard this on Damages (FX, 8/18/2007) and had no idea who it was. Never would have known this song could be so poignant.

  • this version of the song was featured on the show Damages, kick ass!

  • Hey! I just heard this on "Damages". Great cover.

  • umm yer..... different

  • the song is sad and amazing at the same time :(

  • very very good wish he had a full length video on here

  • I enjoyed the snickering from the cameraman.

Leave it to Greg to sap the joy out of Cyndi Lauper... Not to say that didn't sound completely awesome.

  • P.S. Greg Laswell should play in Chicago.

  • wow, who thought that song could be so breathtaking...
