Just in defense of our product..... your issues here are lack of battery capacity. As you dim up the light it is drawing more amperage and at the point where the light shuts off, the batteries can not withstand the draw. You have to use a quality alternative to the NP-F970 or the Sony OEM. It's not a light issue. If you would have contacted us prior to making the video, we would have assisted you in resolving the issue.
@BadAndyFilms I bought a generic Sony replacement for $25 at amazon instead of the $90 battery the B&H salesman recommended. I used this new Maximal Power NP-F950/F970 battery and the light worked at 100% power for both color temperatures. I only tested it for a few minutes, but it worked.
@BadAndyFilms I ordered a 2nd light and had the same problem again. B&H told me I need a newer battery, so I have since ordered a new battery. Hopefully this one works.
@millertime83 Perhaps not newer, but a much more powerful battery. I'm very skeptical because even if you buy the most powerful Sony camcorder battery how long will the runtime be before the maH dips below the threshold that shuts the light off.
I'm thinking it will be fairly quick.
To successfully operate this light at full power you probably need the $400 Switronix Powerbase & Charger which might last 45 min to 1 hour. That's just too expensive an option.
I have the same problem. I received the same light from B&H yesterday and attached a more powerful battery - Sony NP-F930 4050maH and it runs at full power for only 15 seconds and then shuts off.
I can run either Tungsten or Daylight LEDs and it will continue to work, but as soon as I turn on both it shuts off quickly.
The problem is the light requires more current than Switronix would have you believe and our batteries aren't powerful enough for it.

Be careful, this can ruin your battery.
