UUMMANNAQ, Greenland (Reuters) - A Dutch artist arranged two large sculptures on an iceberg in Greenland on Friday to raise awareness about climate change, and people will be able to monitor it online as the ice melts.

The Greenland ice sheet, the world's second-largest, is continuing to experience ice loss due to global warming, according to a new study published this month in Geophysical Research Letters, a publication of the AMERICAN GEOPHYSICAL UNION.

Icelandic Volcano Chills Travel PlansBut What About the Climate?
Published: April 15th, 2010 in Impacts, Climate
By Andrew Freedman
The ongoing eruption of Mt. Eyjafjallajokull in Iceland is disrupting flights across Europe, shutting down some of the busiest airports and aviation corridors in the world. But could it also disrupt the climate system, leading to a temporary cooling trend this summer?
Not likely, according to Rutgers University environmental sciences professor Alan Robock
Not likely, according to Rutgers University environmental sciences professor Alan Robock, an expert on how volcanoes alter the composition of the Earths atmosphere. According to Robock, the Icelandic eruption hasnt contributed enough sulfur dioxide to the upper atmosphere to significantly alter the climate.
CLIMATE CHANGE BLAMED AS COASTAL WHALE MIGRATION DWINDLES
Fluctuations in the gray whale population are to be expected. But a three-year trend of fewer calves being born could be attributed to climate change and hints at the challenges that may lie ahead.
Climate change, development blamed for rapidly rising number of '100-year storms.

In their worst form, they were known as "100-year storms": catastrophes that occurred once a century and caused devastating floods. And yet, in just the past four years, three times the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire have been hard-hit by storms that once came with interludes of decades between them...
The serene Kashmir valley is fast losing its cherished status of a temperate destination with spring literally turning into summer, sending alarm bells ringing among the experts about a possible environmental hazard

I was going to suggest you flunked comprehension in high school but as a US chap I guess you already have enough to worry about. That Obama huh? Says he will declare carbon dioxide a pollutant. Just as crazy as our UK politicians. Will he shut down 60% of the US economy with policy based on a myth????
Wonder why he bought a $4 million condo at the St Regis on Fisherman's Wharf by the ocean. If seas gonna rise like Big AL says,he gonna get his feet wet.
BTW, ever wonder why Al is spending $300 million to propagandise the gullible on global warming if the science is already settled?
Well you really sound like a bright boy. Into bestiality too. Wow.
Move your PC into the lounge so you parents can see what you write and regret they raised a moron. I guess that's what happens when hill billys interbreed. Sad really.
Feel better soon. Nurse; over here!!! Get the people with the straitjackets, the man's outta control.
Can you offer any hard factual scientific basis for your belief? No? Doh!.
There has been no global warming trend since 1995 and none in the southern hemisphere for 30 years. Seems you are unaware of the Greenland project which showed periods of past warming of as much as 5 degrees in 50 years.
Global Warming appears to be happening on other planets in our solar system too. Jupiter has more red and purple storms. The moon Io has more cracks in its ice crust. Mars has more intense dust storms in recent years compared to previous observation. The Sun is getting hotter, as is normal for any star as it goes through its cycles of sun spots and the usual atom decay. Nothing we do is going to stop global warming because it's a natural occurance. There is no need to worry, it's not serious.
@Tafia2006 I was wondering if you still have the same opinion considering the events of 2010 - 2011 where people have started to see a sharp trend towards stronger storms, from tornados to floods to droughts.
@a01087483 What genuine evidence do you have that weather events are tied to CO2? You've been told that. The actual hurricane activity has dropped off.
There's no evidence supporting the claim you're making - just conjecture driven by people with a clear agenda to promote global warming hysteria. Do you know there's been NO statistically significant increase in warming since 1998?
IPCC worst case scenario is looking increasingly optimistic. CO2 production is going up faster than expected, CO2 absorbtion is falling more than expected, ice caps melting faster than expected.
Based on historical cycles we should be slowly drifting towards another ice age, over tens of thousands of years. Warming over last 30 years is not natural.
even if i were to believe that global warming was a hoax or a lie, the utter stupidity and lack of foundation of this video cancels out the very purpose it tries to serve. This is why conservative republicans make for terrible artists and propagandists, they cannot even get their numb-headed neanderthal brains off of hunting and gathering, to actually make a valid point about global warming.
The US Senate Committe on Environment and Public Works has just issued a report in which 400 prominant international scientists say that AGW is a hoax.

He would fit right in with the shower at the IPCC.
