string gauge makes a lot of difference on a strat. I only use elevens because I really don't want to damage the neck (I play a LOT) but it's such a great feeling. strats are the best!

Do your fat 50s also make that humming noise in all positions except for 2 and 4? Is that a good or bad thing cause i know that they are intentionally made that way.

in 2 and 4 you are using 2 pickups at the same time and that is the basic idea of a humbucker
