  • Hallo I´m had church service like your first time I´m sure would not watch you video. I ´m watch your because feel not home in Christianity. Even I also believe all Goddesses only aspect of the one highest energy.

  • you have helped me describe to myself how i feel about God and i thank you<3

  • @jadegirl3331 That is fantastic!!! :)

  • I have the same belief regarding Gods as you do. <3 Blessed Be )O(

  • Gn 43:32 Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that [is] an abomination unto the Egyptians.

  • @TheIAMINU I read that a few months ago. Do you know why this is? It's very odd. x

  • @Pagyptsian Any guesses why Pharoah had the baker killed ?

  • @Pagyptsian ahh yes that too. Though they are bible stories, I'd like to see some archaeological and historical evidence for this actually. From what history tells us about the Egyptians, they were VERY appreciative towards other faiths.

  • I really love how your so open to so many religions. :)

  • @PukeZombies Thank you :) I think it is very important.

  • Oh are you talking about that song that goes "our god is greater, our god is stronger," I think that song is funny because it sounds like they believe that there are actually other separate gods and that theirs is better. I understand that you believe in something different though, that its all one god but different names, right? so that song is silly because there is only one God. I like to think that the song means more like "god is greater, than any obstacle. or problem :)

  • @asianhomebucket On the second hearing of it I also thought that it sounded like it was comparing their God to other existing Gods... I guess it can be interpreted differently each time ^^

  • There is only one creator/God/Goddess and any name of God is just a label for the same thing.

Christianity came out of paganism anyway and the Jesus story is a copy of pagan godman myths. The book The Jesus Mysteries explains this.

I was a church going christian for 20 years but found this out and now I enjoy witchcraft and good parts of christianity!

But I don't like most churches as a lot of the people are hypocritical and when I left hardly anyone contacted me. And they slag off witchcraft!

  • @swdee2003 Very fair enough :) x

  • The god you saw or felt in that church was horus.

  • this was a great video,

  • Did you ever make a video about your experience at the Mosque?

  • @mashmusic11235 I haven't gone yet :) We tried calling and they never answered so I'm going to try again soon x

  • wow. i wish the church i had gone to as a little girl had been more like your experience, rather than an hour of sad hymns and my grandma reading scripture and saying: "stay a way from this. it angers God". i always thought they all were the same. glad to know otherwise lol

  • @HopeAngel777 I guess you need to try more out willingly to find the good ones. x

  • I was raised catholic

  • That sounds like an amazing church!!!!!!!!!

  • @sora13150 ^^ Best I've been to. x

  • Wow. I used to attend youth group at a Pentecostal church, and while things did eventually go south between that group and me, their worship ceremonies were very much like what you described. I've never thought about how similar our practices are to that before. Thank you for opening my mind to those similarities. :)

  • @SidheHeart Great to hear! I just went to a Catholic Church and liked the similarities too :) x

  • Comment removed

  • @MicahArmstrong I was able to read the message on my notifications, thank you very much :) x

  • i love how open minded you are!! You really inspire me!

    <3 u! -Kaya Silvermoon.

  • @loveamethyst99 Thank you! That's great to hear! :)

  • This was an excellent video. A lot of Christians condemn pagans or people of the Craft for being "witches" or "ungoldy" when they don't realize that they share similar rituals and practices with them, and they both love their God(s).

  • @fruitikay Thank you :) I was quite lucky. x

  • omg you saw Isis?! x

  • @XEgyptianEyesX Yes :) If you think about, she's been very involved with christianity having inspired the Virgin Mary :) x

  • @XEgyptianEyesX Yes :) I think she has been involved with the church since it's creation, as Mary was based on her. She gets involved at every opportunity ^^ x

  • @Pagyptsian Your so lucky!

    I bet she is beautiful :) x

  • @XEgyptianEyesX I am very abstract when I see them - which is rare as I am a pantheist and mostly see the in nature. I see how as a beautiful lady when I do meditations and visual prayers, but in this instance it was like a blue light swirling around their ribbons, and wrapping herself around the mother and baby. It was like a protective aura. x

  • @Pagyptsian wow :)

  • I had a not so fun time at a Christian church with my friend. After chanting about how unworthy I am for a half hour, I left feeling pretty depressed and a bit annoyed. BUT, I really really enjoyed when we all shook hands! That part was fun.

  • @stoked86 I think many churches have lost their meaning nowadays (and for a long while really). x

  • You must have went to a Pentecostal they believe in the gifts of the holy spirit and part of it is healing via laying of hands. I used to go a a church like that but eventually fell away from it cause it got too dogmatic and I felt they lost their connection to the holy spirit.

  • @holylight12 It is a shame when dogma overrides spirit :/ x

  • @Pagyptsian No kidding :(

  • It's nice that you had a good experience. It sounds like quite a liberal church. I went to my grandmother's conservative baptist church a few weeks ago to make her happy, and it was very much a sit down and get preached at affair. Not that great an experience for me. But I'm interested to hear how the visit to the Mosque goes. Keep us in the loop :)

  • @standabovethecrowd I will do! :) x

  • @Aniyra I may go along to my friends church which is quite quiet and more stereotypical, so I may do a video on that too x

  • What kind of church was this?

  • @leerawrdinosaurs It didn't have a domination x

  • I did enjoy watching this video, because I'm glad you were so able to connect to others this way, even while not being a Christian. It's a wonderful example of how all god is the same god. However, not all churches agree with the church you went to, far from it. But being raised a Christian, I think it was easy for me to celebrate as a pagan because some things are very similar. After all, Christianity grew up along side its pagan ancestor. We are brothers and sisters in our spiritual history.

  • @backwardfish178 Yeah tthat is very true, even christians argue amongst themselves. I guess we are all human ^^

  • your experience reminds me of one i had when i was about 10 when my moms friend took us to her church and it was great and i really wasn't to go back i wasn't a pagan at this time but my mom never let us go again cause sh doesn't like Christians she disappoints me

  • I had mentioned on one of your other vids that I ended up at an Ash Wed mass in NYC. It was very nice and as you said, I saw the ritual of repetition and song. I grew up in a Lutheran church and most of my time there was very positive, I just found I did not agree with everything and moved on. But what we do is not that much different. Prayer and ritual and the passion that most other religions practice (not all, but most) can be inspiring if you look close enough...:>)

  • @Chetallica Definately agree :)

  • It IS the same that is why it is sad that Christians are typically so intolerant of non-Christian based faiths

  • I'm glad u felt god....that's what matters :-)

  • I was in christianity for most of my life, recently being freed from the fundamentalistic dogma that many denominations share, such that a few people mentioned already here. It is fine if you choose to follow a specific path, but there is no one nor no ONE religion that can claim that "the others are wrong". If there WAS "one true religion", it would be compelling and all would be in it.

I've yet found a path, but know that should I find it, it will be right for me.

  • My first experience at Church as a magickal practitioner was the preacher screaming at the top of his lungs that everyone who practices witchcraft should be killed. And then the sheep joined him in prayer... which is an act of witchcraft. It was funny, and kinda sad at the same time.

  • @TheManiacalSatanist6 Lots of people have negative experiences of church, so I was lucky to go to such a nice one x

  • @Pagyptsian Was It the congregational church on top of the hill? Heard that its a laid back church.

  • I willingly went to church last Sunday for Dana's cousin's First Communion. I felt out of place, but thanks to him and his family being there, I felt comfortable at the same time. I didn't really get too into it, but it was a nice experience despite my awkwardness.

    Goddess bless )O(

  • When I go to the churches in my area, I feel as though the same God is there, but as though the Christians don't share my feelings. They're especially hostile and judgemental, and don't care to realize that we can ALL be right! I share your views completely, and commend you on being able to have this wonderful experience and share it with us. Blessed Be. (:

  • @ChryssiRose Nice to hear you see the same God there too :) It is such a shame, and indend a loss to society that people treat each other this way. I know christians who are understanding and support my beliefs equally to theirs, yet so so many don't do that. I also find many Pagans who criticise christians :/

    x

  • This church you went to sounds "badass", unlike most of the churches I have been to.

  • I have the same beliefs as you! :D This is a wonderful experience to share :]

  • I find it ironic that many of the original protestants left the Catholic church because it was "too pagan" and now this reformed church you describe is just as "pagan." Just goes to show that the pagan in all of us can never really die, which is a good thing I think, because we need to embrace our roots. As long as you are being a bigot, you will only see differences, but when you really open your heart, you will see that we are not all so different.

  • @baritenorsondheim Absolutely true :)

  • It's so funny listening to you describe what you call not a "normal" church, when this is the kind of church me and all my Christian friends grew up with. xD Anyway, very good video. A lot of times you get Pagans who are rather hostile toward Christianity because they grew up with it and experienced a lot of hostility after they became Pagan, so it's good to hear such positivity from a fellow Pagan about Christianity.

  • What a wonderful experience(s) you had! And I agree with you in so many ways ... but we already know that.

    Love you!

  • @momcalzmesheri Thank you! x

  • It's good to see that you're open-minded and willing to acknowledge other belief systems out there. :) Excellent video, and keep up the good work. :)

  • I just wish the Christians would realize that our religion is not that different than theirs. They think that we are so different and we really aren't. We, as Wiccans, can be open and accepting....I just wish they were. It would be interesting to see a bunch of Christians attend a Wiccan ritual or festival. I wonder if they would be able to notice the similarities. By the way, I love your accent....I'm envious. Blessed Be ~*~

  • I have to find that church that you go to. All the churches in canada suck. :(

  • @wiccanhelp06 That's quite the overgeneralization. I am an ecclectic neopagan and a devout Anglican (I live in Winnipeg), and I love church just as much as the rituals I perform when I am solitary. Maybe you just haven't found a denomination you can really connect to? You can find traces of "paganism" in any church, really, when you look. Keep searching =)

  • @baritenorsondheim

That's good advice. I should say Calgary. A lot of them are over 'Powerful'

  • @wiccanhelp06 What kinds have you been to so far? I think I know what you mean. Some can really be overbearing and breathing down your neck type of churches, but I really like the liturgical ones. I really connect to the "paganism" in the Anglican because that church always seems to make room for disagreement. It is full of ritual and tradition like the Catholic, but not nearly as dogmatic, in my experience, leaving room for you to carve your own spiritual path.

  • I actually like churches and cathedrals even though I am Pagan. I have Asperger Syndrome and ecclesiastical buildings are my special interest (yes, Aspies can be Pagans too!). I have even gone into Leicester Cathedral and lit candles and said prayers. It doesn't matter that I'm praying to Woden and Freya instead of Jesus and Mary does it? x x x

  • I truly agree with you in everything. Pointing out these similarities between religions is one of the things I mentioned to my christian parents so they could understand, accept and respect my beliefs when I confessed to be Wiccan and why. It truly excites me when people of different religions can get together in harmony and share knowledge by accepting each other and respecting each others' different practices.

  • @zavish This is like dancing: not everybody likes to dance the same music, but we enjoy it when we dance our own, and music and dancing are two ways of expression of our spirits. I believe that all religions have the same divine entity, we just use different names, characters, faces, etc. according to our cultures and traditions, but from the point of view from that common divine entity, he/she won't reject any way of expression and worship towards him/her as long as we do it with a pure heart.

  • would you go to that church again?

  • I have been an Eclectic Pagan since 2007...i was raised a Roman Catholic. I still incorporate many of my Christian/Catholic beliefs and practices into my Pagan Path and it's been working for me inspite of what others may think. Following one Path is not for me. Wonderful video and thank you so much for sharing your expierence with us! :) ~Many Blessings~ x

  • I always fancied seeing a Hindu temple. I always like visiting Catholic churches. :)

  • @AnnikaGarratt I would love to see a Hindu temple, but they are so far away. Catholic churches and cathedrals are lovely :) x

  • Sounds like you had a nice time. It reminds us how there are always links that connect every religion together. Thank you for the video Blessed Be~

  • I think it's always good to go and be open to what other religions have to say, without changing who you are and your beliefs. There really are alot of similarities between the religions themselves. It just seems people almost "corrupt" it with the need to argue over whose beliefs are better or more "correct". Glad you had a good experience :)

  • Merry Meet Olivia!Really loved this video. It was quite open minded. There's a lot of paganism hidden within christianity as well.Well hinduism is a modern version or should I say the combined version of the original vedic system and the existent local or tribal systems of worship.I would suggest if you could try and explore a bit of the vedic systems where you would find a lot of similarity with Wicca.

  • @BrightBeginnings77 It wasn't named any particular denomination as far as I know. It was just an All Christians included church, and I know a Jewish man who goes there too!

  • @Pagyptsian sounds Universal Unitarian...?

  • @AnnikaGarratt Maybe? I have no idea about these things ^^ x

  • @AlexAKAButterscotch Thank you :) x

  • Hmm... interesting. Its sounds like you went to a spiritualist church? The local church of England vicar often visits my families business in Ludlow, and is a really nice person. One day we were talking about having guidance from guides, deities etc and he simply said 'Yes, we call them angels'.

From reading the comments below I now see that the misconception of the conversion to Christianity can go both ways, which is not very wise. It obviously depends on the individual.

  • @MrElestial It wasn't called a Spiritualist church, just a christian fellowship but I don't know. I agree with you point :) x

  • great video but u kno wats sad they have sum things they do tat we do but sum can't except wiccan n say mean things by it. its like we al do sum of the same things y not start excepting it u kno wat i mean?

  • @lonelyqueen9 Absolutely agree!

  • I agree with nailliqueur, the Christians adopted many things from the Pagans to get the Pagans to convert more easily. Pagan rituals, beliefs, practices and deities were adopted into Christianity. But that didn't always work, and so you have the forced conversions to Christianity. It's the Christians who copy us in many, many ways.

  • @PriestChristopher Yes I do agree, the similarities are because we all borrow from the ancients. But I don't mind that at all. x

  • After I've been dealing with my lover, which happens to be a christian, the kind of christian that belived in jesus but know what tolerance and loving the ones around you, I've seen how much alike our - so different - faiths are. So I understand what you mean but unfortunatly, most christians we see today, even on youtube, are hateful and they care only about therselves, playing their hypocrite and mocking games. I'm so pround of my boy, because he's not like that.

    Blessings,

    M.

  • The thing is Christian god is against witchcraft so if you wanted to worship the Christian god you must give witchcraft up there god and Jesus are one. i no because i was ones a Christian and went to there church. Blessed be

  • @rose500 I don't think the "Christian God" is against witchcraft. I think the Christians are. Blessed Be x

  • this is an amazing video and thank you so much for sharing it.this has been my point all along, that you cannot be truly enlightened if you do not accept that the divine can be found everywhere because jesus has been here many times under different names.you truly are growing and expanding and learning to appreciate the divine in all their guises.hugs and love beautiful xxxx

  • @Helenhealer Thank you Helen! I really appreciate this comment :) xxx

  • My heart has opened unto every form: it is a pasture for gazelles, a cloister for Christian monks, a temple for idols, the Ka'ba of the pilgrim, the tables of the Torah and the book of Qur'an. I practice the religion of Love; in whatsoever directions its caravans advance, the religion of Love shall be my religion and my faith. Ibn 'Arabi (d.1240)

  • my father takes me to church often, and there are times that i truly feel uncomfortable, and it has nothing to do with how i feel about Christians or Christianity, its mostly how the members feel about me. i am openly gay and pagan, and i often feel judged. if there wasnt that element, i would feel better about church and connecting to Deity through Jesus.

  • @RedDragon033195 I definately understand that x

  • I'm a pagan, but I occasionally attend catholic mass. I love the ritual - that's part of what drew me to paganism. I'm a little wigged-out by new-aged christian churches, but I do feel the same presence of God in every church, synagogue or pagan circle that I've ever gone to.

  • Wonderful video. :)

  • you should check out baha'i gathering/community. i'm not baha'i but i know people who are. i'm think that religion believes in one God, and that all other gods/goddess are connected to the highest God.. er something like that. iono but it sounded cool to me, maybe you will like it too.

  • beatiful, that is what TRUE christianity is all about.

  • @saberur66 Completely agree!

  • i really love this video :-) I've been thinking of going to church just to see what it is like but the only ppl i could ask would b my grandparents & they will take it the wrong way & think i'm converting :-( my friends would probably never do it for the sake of sleeping in lol & because most of my friend r atheist / have a deep hatred for Christianity. oh well enough about me! i find ur desire to find god in every religion deeply admirable & wish u good luck on ur search! have a great day :)

  • @CattailLeaf I think because I went twice in a row the people there thought I was converting. But I am so glad I had the experience. x

  • @WiccanChickJaden lol i wished you would of been there :)

  • Good video! :) I hope you describe your other experiences in other temples/churches/mosques Have a great day!

  • @Britrules10000 Mosque next :) x

  • Im glad you had such a good church experience. That sounds like a really cool church although most church's aren't usually that opened and lively.

  • @WillowGoblinQueen I was lucky to find such a good one!

  • @Pagyptsian indeed! Just be weary of other churchs. From my experiance most are very guarded and judgemental towards outsiders and even more so with pagans. But over all its really great to experiance all sorts of different religions. ^ ^ especially going to those churchs that are loose enough to believe that dancing and singing should be apart of every sunday service. those ones are the best kind. i wish you luck and many happy experiances.

  • really interesting! sounds a lot like the churches i grew up in, though mine were more conservative when it came to worship cause they were "older" churches, as in they had more older people than young. but i have been to "young" churches and they're lovely. youth group is always so fun too, except if it's too big; then it's like a cult hahaha

  • I hate to say this, but I'd wager that the reason so many of the things that Christians do are "exactly the same" as what we, Pagans, do is related to the whole Christianization movement, when Pagan traditions were adopted/manipulated to have a purpose in a Christian setting in an attempt to convert the Pagans of the era. I'd like to say that it's all a universal purpose, but I just don't believe it, considering the history.

  • @nailliqueur You're exactly right.

  • @nailliqueur Yes that is very true, they copied much of the Pagan traditions. And I don't mind a bit. x

  • before i was pagan i went to church every week with my aunt i had been going for about 4 months and the last time i went the preacher starting about how gay people wear going to hell and how gay people wear baby killers and it was really bad needles to say it was my last visit blessed be

  • @s81710 That is awful :(

  • Kudos for being open. I'm a Christian, but I have not been in a "church" in ages. I rarely felt God there any more than I felt it elsewhere.Churches tend to either get very stale & hyper-formal,or they get puffy fluffy. I've been to LOTS of churches & have first hand experience w/ almost every denomination,as well as many non-denominational ones. The last church I went to was the Church of Religious Science (Earnest Holmes), which is not Christian, but I find it more fulfilling in many ways.

  • I'm very happy you made this video because it just shows to people that all religions are basically the same with a few differences and interpretations of different things.

  • @conjoe22 seven thumbs up for you ^^

  • Did I return? No. Honestly, there are other things keeping me from returning, but most of which involved me listening to "Evil" music (Heavy metal) or associating myself with "Pagans" (freemasons). I agree with "The All", but have never experienced such a thing. I have felt powerful energy though. Blessed be :)

  • @ccifelli424 For one, Pagans have nothing to do with the Freemasons smart one... two, Heavy metal isn't "Evil" music either, personally I don't listen to it, but you can't classify a certain genre of music as a certain alignment.

  • @ArcaneFaerie Lol I know. The Freemason controversy, was stupid. I plan on becoming one some day, but that argument had to do with me looking for a letter of recommendation for a scholarship. Even worse. The heavy metal stuff, yes, I had been listening to Slayer and Anthrax. Slayer passes themselves on as Satanists, but they're really Catholics. Thanks Faerie for siding with me on their ignorance, but as I said, there was good stuff too. My favorite part was playing bass guitar ^.^

  • @ccifelli424 Sorry for sounding rude, it was actually directed to whoever classified Pagans as Freemasons... but, no problem.

    Faerie's Blessings.

  • I used to go to a church, MUCH like the one you attended (healing, prayers, dancing, everything). I actually played bass in the youth group's worship band. The head pastor even had a "prophetess" (which do still exist in the christian community) pay us a visit and lead a sermon. She even gave my dad an aura reading, which is actually taboo among Christianity. Hmmm, was she really a Pagan? Who knows. Over time I began to develop the same abilities and got chastised for it. Cont. ---->

  • I agree with you, about the whole gods/goddess manifesting in different ways... In fact I have, what I think to be, a very good theory on religions. And why they differ, and how they're the same... But that's all too long to type, so maybe when I go home I'll post a video about it!? ^_^

    =^.^= *meow*

    ~Lizz

  • @LingMistressLizz Let me know if you do upload it! :) x

  • I'm glad you had a good experience, at least the first time. It sounded more like a spiritual gathering than a church service (at least not a church service like I went to growing up). If more people could do what you did, with an open mind and an open heart, then we could see more of the similarities in different belief systems and maybe not spend so much time on the differences. It's long past time.
