The way I did this is I filmed about 20 minutes of video. The camera recorded that into an M2TS file, aspect ratio 16:9, something like 1440x810 if memory serves. I used Power Director to speed it up by about x40, outputting to a 1280x720 WMV9 file. Then I used Windows Media Encoder to crop a bit from the top and bottom and output to a 2:1, 1280x640 file.

Some days I get sick of the words MB and GB because of how hard disk manufacturers have messed with them.

HDD manufactures mix up MiB with MB and GiB with GB a lot (the one with the I is based on 1000's [which HDD manufacturers refer to without the i] and the other on 1024 [which is what most OS's use]). However you could byte can mean 8bits or 6bits or really any number of bits. Its realy a no win situation unless you write out its size as bits which would leave you with a HUGE number..
