I used to listen to this song over and over and over in 1974 when I was 12 years old. LOVED IT. Mick Box (guitar) was one of those unsung guitar players who was just a great all around player. Good slide player too.
Their masterpiece!!!!!!!! I have 'wm all but this album was the band at their best. Should have stayed with this lineup.God I was 15 when I first heard this album.Dave Wyndorf brought it over to my house with Atomic Rooster" Death Walks Behind You . Nice music night!!
Very nice song! Unfortunately, nearly nobody of the todays youth hear this... or just know this :( . When you want to tell them about this, they tell you, that THIS isn't real music.
@BenBunnyBrot You just said everything totaled up together. I'm 14 and this generation SUCKS. We have crap for cars, obese ugly girls, the WORST fashion (still I don't really care about it, thought I'd throw it in there.) we're going to be in debt up to our necks when we get older and all we have is this crap bubblegum techno "music". The rock bands aren't even good now. Well, I'll just be the "odd one" because I don't wear purple flannel shirts and listen to Skrillex.
@mrtheroosterdude Amen to this, but especially to the bit on cars. Real cars haven't been made since the late '70s, and even then it was getting rough (the 1975 edition of the Dodge Charger was pretty much the beginning of the end, though some cool designs still came after that). What the hell are auto designers smoking, I wonder? All car designs seem to have gone from badass, solid vehicles to metrosexual, plastic-and-aluminum wussmobiles. It's pretty sad.
@mrtheroosterdude gov't responsible. Financed many groups to disperse adulation. Then fed confiscated drugs to burn them out. Couldn't chance another Beatles uniting everyone. Almost brought about revolution. Gov't smart, knows threats/how to survive.
@BenBunnyBrot U keep searching for what you enjoy. Don't let anyone dictate to you what they think is good music. Good music transcends all ages. You live in a wonderful time...its all here for you, all you gotta do is listen. Cheers
One of the first songs I learned back in 1970's love that high A chord run open strings ect. la la lalalalalalal alal alalalalalal alalalalalal ala la la lalala lalalalalalllaaallllaaaaalllllllllaallllllllaa. Great lead and vocals
Very Heavy ,Very Humble,Look At Yourself,Demons And Wizards,The Magician's Birthday,Uriah Heep Live Jan.1973,Sweet Freedom,Wonderworld, and Return To Fantasy-these are the 1970-1975 era Uriah Heep LP's,every Heep Fan must own a copy. This is the Heep at their peek.Goddammit I Love This Band,so soooo Badass.
Although the writing credit is all Hensley's it is a superb ensemble piece from a band at their very peak. This album and Demons and Wizards were Heep's crowning achievements and are both still fabulous to listen to today.
I am older now and tend to listen more to modern metal, but I am having a Heep day today, and I feel 16 again.
How can exist people which say "I like rock!" and they don't know this? It's like don't know who're Led Zeppelin :D
