im looking on making an amd based computer sometime soon, just woundering, what should i get (like what type of motherboad, audio/video cards, cpu, cooling, powersupply, etc.)
yaya i kno, actchually nvm :p ill just ask my friend, he made a gaming computer thats liquid cooled with phenom x4 and duel graphics card for bout 1,500$ and its like fast, so yeah lolz
Yeah, I guess I'm sticking in the comfort zone as well (I'm sure ATI cards perform like they should be). Never had any kinda trouble with any nVidia cards I had.
4870 vs. GTX 280 Personaly I wouldnt waste an extra 100-200 dollars on the 280 for an extra 5-20 frames while Im still getting excellent frame rates anyway on the 4870.
I dont use the 4870x2 because its manily for higher resolutions
For people who would like to play Crysis on the highest resolution.
since you work for nvidia tell them the 8600 gt chips are pieces of shit and I am happy they are getting sued for engineering and producing faulty chips and the absolutely worst drivers i have ever come across
hey! i got a 8800gts, 640mb, oc as well as my mobo and my 4 ddr4, and guess what... all this running on a 350w power supply...hot as hell but with all the fans i got, doesnt show...
New just in! You spent AT LEAST $900 aussie bucks to get this beast of a card and now Nvidia have reased the *NEW* and improved 8800GTS 512MB G92 core. [almost]Faster. better. stronger. cheaper. FUCK! HALF THE COST.
well thats not intirely true man, the g92 will get better benchmarks on some res tests but the gtx still dominates it at higher than 1680 x 1050 because of bit interface and memory
Static benchmarks might show the G92 cards on top. But as soon as Anti-Aliasing etc. is used the 8800GTX still comes out on top in games. nvidia better make the G200 something spectacular because the G92 sure isn't goint to be all that special.
I have a GTX myself with thermaltake duorb, still freaking fast. I will just wait for the after G92 series, the G10000 lol I don't know what they will call it but hey, selling vid cards on ebay can be magical.
dude, if u add some jet fule, u could possibly get some afterburner effects with that. =D indeed, too loud man, gotta cushin those sharp fan blades, go water cooling man, just have a longer tube with insulation around it, and pipe it outside where the radiator is. I keep mine outside the window, birds like to mess around with the radiator cuz its warm, but other than that, im getting like 2C temps in the winter. watever the temperature is outside and add 2 celsius to that.
since the temp around the waterblock(case temp) is much warmer...dew happens... but seal it up, and add some moisture absorbing packets in there. should be all fine. scilent operation, the only thing u hear is the PSU fan, and the really really loud HD movements. u dont generally hear it untill all fans are off. then u hear it.
o please kid im not a nerd and i bet you i work more this year then u have in your life shouldnt u be sleepin so u can wake up for school tommorow lmao fag
wow what does work have to do with anything? thats probably all you do so thats all you can say to me. yea thats right im 16 bitch, im not some old man like you. i'll just go enjoy my youth now.
Maybe I was over exaggerating, but that is still too loud. Now I know I will not buy that. The GeForce 9000 series video cards will have 45nm and they will make less noise.

The crysis development team said that current graphic cards CAN NOT RUN CRYSIS on ULTRA SETTINGS. The game is made so well and at a level that it will only run on ultra settings on graphics cards in the futura...like 2 years future
That's got to be bullshit. Then crytek have just wasted 27 million dollars making a game for celebrities exclusively. A 8800ultra could max crysis and they have also confirmed that even a GTS with all the other sufficient requirements could run it on high settings. That was a rumor out some time now, jus' like how doom 3 was over hyped with that future GPU BS.
They ran Crysis on ULTRA settings with a 8800 GTX on the E3. Now imagine what 2 of them can do and you can easy overclock them or buy a 8800 Ultras. In 2 years Crysis will look like a joke compared to what will come.
I never said it was 100%. It all depends on the game. I got SLI myself, and in some games I do get almost twice the performance. Its only the older games that didnt really support it yet, but every game from 2006 and later gives you about 50% more or even higher.
I Think he is running a 8800gtx at 8800ultra speeds because 8800 gtx and ultra are the same cards but the ultra has better cooling and higher clock speeds
Will a 1000w psu constantly be consuming 1kw of electricity even when system load isnt very high? So when youre using you're pc for low powered stuff like word proccessing it wont be using 1kw.
Im Sure it will run, its a good motherboard & i just bought a 850watt psu for it too. I wish i had a better processor, but the one i got is enough to crank out crysis.
The C.E.O. of Crysis, Cevat Yerli, said that there will be no hardware available in the world to max out Crysis at the time it comes out. You're living in a dream. That's not to say that a 8800GTX with a C2D or even just a GTS wont play Crysis on good settings @ 1600x1200 and the game won't run smooth. I'm just saying since Crysis specs aren't even posted on the official website there is no way of knowing.

well what i've seen is that intel chips overclock a lot more then the amd's
dramaisthebest 2 years ago

ya the phenom FX
dister11 2 years ago
check out the phenom 2's, heard they overclock like crazy

cool, hay do u know a good, inexpencive, amd based mother bord that can hold 4+GB of ram

WIth that in mind, u might want to use anti freeze as ur coolant, since where im from, things tend to freez overnight.
Problem with this, is that if ur home is really humid, and warm, u can get condensation to form on the inside water block.
