  • Sir you look exactly like Robert Downey Jr.

  • @Roy4Lyfe agreed

  • i had a great idea...... we can.... get a next gen atari :) and kickk xbox and ps3 away :)

  • Hi five for mother energy drink :D

  • lol @ the game over outro

  • @mysterymooseman

    I kno

    It so wierd

  • Red Bull bad for the stomach BRAAAP!

  • @xato909

    who cares its delicious!

  • lol. you look like robert downey jr.

  • laughed alot! :)

nice review... it's a shame the hardware is a piece of crap... maybe u can use it as a keychain.

  • I completely agree with ya, but I just can't stop laughing when you burped like that XD

  • "tiny little joysticks that only fetuses can use..." LAWL

  • roflmao rape you up the bottom xD

  • The good old days are gone...forever...-BRAAP-

    Lmao

  • which model macbook pro you using?

  • judging by the date of the video.. the first aluminum one

  • i dont belive u blunty!

  • Hey Blunty - sorry about the joystick - but I enjoyed your folly - whoopsie!

    Cheers,

    k

  • nice video man

  • Indeed a piece of crap. The Astroids I played only had two colors... black and white. It's too bad the joystick didn't make it to the rest of the games before breaking. Nice review. I can see your frustration, but at least it was only $4.99 instead of $5.00. Take care Blunty.

  • I would say that $5 for a neat little keychain isn't bad, but it doesn't even make for a good keychain. It's too big & breaks easily as you well demonstrated. Unless you got giant pockets or carry your keys in a shirt pocket or some other pocket not at your hip, it looks to be frustrating to pull out your keys without the stick snapping off.

  • Rip OFF!!!!!

  • yea umm i watch your videos alot and i was wondering wat camera do u use

  • good old days aint gone if you've still got a working 2600 with Asteroids :)

and yes, I HAVE learned how to tune it in thank you *but it took a while...*

  • my goodness blunty, i got the dvd set of the g force battle of the planets. cool tshirt

  • almost bulletproof hahahaha

  • Good old days are gone forever... BURP

    lol

  • 5 stars for burp

  • Blunty you should buy Morrowind its a great game. It is an rpg and you can get it fairly cheap.

  • lol you get pissed at a video game that costs 5 bucks um how did you think it was going to turn out

  • Umm well it says works like the orininal atari so obviously it may seem like it'll work like one, you'd be pissed too if you had one and it broke

  • like an atari you fag

  • lol, u get what u pay for huh. haha, good vid.

  • cry me a river?

  • idiot

  • allthough you may have raised some good.....ish points, who cares

  • You can play Asteroids on most online game websites for free, also they released a pack like 4 years ago called Atari Classics that had like 100 Atari class games in it. And yes it was made by Atari.

  • The Good Times are gone..Forever..*Burp*,lol

    UNWORTHY!

  • lol

  • i want one

  • Blunty3000, I make gameplay videos on YouTube and I have over 6000 subscribers, and well, the level to which I agree with you is unparallel. Graphics are there to make it so you can recognize what you are looking at, NOTHING MORE. This is the order of importance I subscribe to for games, from high to low: Interface, gameplay, lack of game-killers, sound quality, pacing, RPG elements, difficulty, replayability, and FINALLY graphics.

  • Old version: Made by Australians.

    New Version: Made by Chinese.

  • l to the o to the l, classic joke.

  • 4:00 xD

  • Um...are you going to take it back for a refund seeing as though it didn't live up to its promise.

  • I don't think that is available in the United States. Might be a good think considering that it wasn't worth the buy.

  • i think that if a game company remakes a game ther should just transfair it to todays technology and screw round with it aswell i remember back when i played the sega megadrive that was the best console i ever played even though xbox 360 and ps3 have better gameplay there just not as long and the fun doesnt last and the console itself breaks easy. i have had my sega 15 or 16 years and it has had a few drops but it just never broke and it still works

  • i know, those older consoles are UNBREAKERABLE

  • of course its going to be crap it costs five aussie dollars which is like £2 in real money

  • pounds aren't real money. This is "$"

  • dollars aren't real money rubles are

  • your both incorrect, the bahrainie dinar (dee narr) is the way to go *sarcasm*

  • The really sad thing is that these devices are rather common in the toy isles down here. One wonders just what today's kids think about our gaming history when the manufacturers flub it like that.

Yes, these games are low res... yes... a lot of them aren't worth their salt these days... but that doesn't mean all the games are crap. Halo itself was built on the "5 minutes of fun infinitely repeated" mentality of these games.

And yes, emulation is the only real way to go. ^_^

  • whiner

  • I'm not old enough to remember atari but I have golden, if not fuzzy nostalgic memories of playing my sega console back when... ahhh *stares dreamily out of window*

Then I was a big boy (7 or 8 I think) with my Nintendo 64, playing Goldeneye (the best bond game to date) and Super Mario 64/ Mario Kart.

I still don't know if I look at those games fondly because I played them through a child's eyes or because I actually love the games.

  • stfu lol noooo1 carezZ

  • no where on the packages did it say ORIGINAL ATARI GAME iy said PLAYS LIKE AN ORGINAL ATARI GAME. there is a difference! just go by an atari system on ebay or something

  • Emulation FTW!

  • They did not make the joy stick smaller. Your hands have grown bigger since you were a child.

  • I hope you're joking.

  • I was joking. Obviously not very well ;-)

  • I feel bad for people that paid 30$ for that... But if you want games like the older ones, you need to check the arcade options for each Console, or PC. Mini games that dont cast much, but provide endless fun. They may not be as grand, but they are certainly better than that Atari rip off. I just found on on XBL Arcade called Crystal Defenders. Which is Square Enix's version of a Tower Defense game. It's loads of fun, and I recommend it to anyone who like a bit of strategy along with tons of fun

  • even though im a later generation, i still love the classic games for atari and nintendo. and they do like to chnge the coding which is stupid

  • I still have a working Atari 2600. As a little kid I loved the Smurfs game. Now I am older I much prefer the Return ofthe Jedi game.

Looking at the scren shots I am impressed that they got the font style for the score completely perfect.

Oh and my original atari joysticks still work and are indeed bulletproof.

  • Looks like a pic micro and a cheap chinese case and design. Makes me wonder how Atari (or the survivors?) would allow such crap.

  • I can sympathise with you, Blunty. I might be young, but my father was an Atari fan and dragged me into it. I loved asteroids! Seeing this rip-off version is a great disappointment.

  • Welcome to the discount shop.... XD

Well it was 5 bucks... 30 $ for it would be a freaking insult...

  • It is kind of strange how they fail to port such a small simple game. Even emulators who can port the game correctly could be run on a smaller piece of hardware than that - oh and $30 for the original price is outrageous; a damn near insult.

  • Lmao.... "burp"

  • i used to like atari games - nice and simple, just fun once in a while

  • i feel sorry for you, those retards should refund you!

  • I see Mother on your desk, I recently received a 24 pack of mother as a gift. mmmmmmmm

  • Dweeb.

  • Well, this is another example of "getting what you paid for." By the way, how much is $4.99 in US dollar?

  • what do you expect for $5 lol. Check out the open source game hedgewars I just found it and its a fun game.

  • yeah, atari just became shit after nintendo and sega came out..

  • you became shit when you were born, atari is the best playing console that will ever have been made. I set the bar for every video game you've seen.

  • i said AFTER the nes and sega came out! For example back in the 80's/90's i would have bought a nes rather than a atari 5200. I dont care how it set the bar, i was just saying that it didnt do well in the market vs its competitors....u fucking idiot.

Dont even bother responding becuz ur just gonna say something rude and obnoxious, that just really makes u look like an asshole..

  • it set the bar*

  • hey Blunty3000 what was the device you used to connect T.V. connections to your laptop

  • Nothing more than a bog standard USB av capture device.

  • Do you use a screen recording software when you connect your t.v. to your laptop?

I'm curious because i do my own video game reviews, and I would like to start using my own gameplay instead of downloading gameplay from websites.

  • quick question ummm X box memory card can hold about 10 games ..same for ps2...but my N64 memore card i saved like 50 games on why doesent it ever get full

  • i think that they focus now days to much on grafix and not enough on gameplay...my first game system was the super nintends and thoes games where fun and challanging then nintendo 64 that was the best game system i have ever owned then playstation...thats when games started caring more about grafix then gameplay cause almoste all new games they drop you in the middle of knowwhere and tell you to shoot things and the good newer games are buggy like darker of days i got 25 letters left 9 blah 321

  • 3:59

  • I love how he's so emphatic with what he says haha.

  • i miss my Atari T_T i miss the games so much.

  • Eek! Catch ya next time =)

  • 3:55 made me laugh like hell......

  • pixels as big as your face you say? hmm

  • I once hooked an atari 2600 up to my 135cm rear projection tv (don't have it now) so yes. The pixels were massive. Made me laugh ^_^

  • ah the Atari. did you know there were porn games for the atari Blunty?

  • Duh. Every oldschool gamer with any cred knows that.

  • i like it when blunty talks to us:)

  • lol very true and they weren't even that good. ah atari you succeed yet sometimes you fail...

  • @Blunty3000 Heck, I'm 14 and I knew that.

  • when did you get the new macbook?

  • He's obsessed with his stuff...that means it isn't new

  • P.O.S.

  • YOU ATARI MURDERERER!!!

  • I had one of those about a year ago. my mom told me it would break but i still bought it.

i only got 5 minutes, then it broke. :[

But mine was only 2 bucks so u got ripped off

  • My grandma got me this bigger atari remake system that came with like 50 games and two joy sticks. Don't know how much it was but it was extremely fun and sounded and acted the same as I remember from when I was five. The remake system itself was about half the size of an Xbox 360.

  • I liked the angry nerd style approach to it

  • "Good old days are gone forever... *burp*"

  • Classic :D

  • Can't believe someone would have actually payed $30 for that thing before it got marked down.

  • lol its centipede you said millipede

  • ha funny stuff as always

and cool Gatchaman aka G-Force t-shirt

  • Nice product placement you made me want to go buy a mother lol.

  • 3:58... epic....

  • lol good old days (that i never got to see, because i wasnt born in the days of atari)

  • Your all class Nate <3

  • Why don't you just play your real Atari 2600?

  • nice change of video :) please do a review on Demon's Souls for the PS3 and Borderlands for... any system

  • he looks more and more like Robert downy Jr every video lol

  • If your still interested in reliving old games after that ill-designed bit of game-necromancy, maybe Diablo 1 might help. I still find myself going back to that every so often, and loving it every time. Also, if you burn the corpse of the failure of a game replica, can we watch?

  • this game looks fun which is wat i like i agree with u blunty about this

  • More game reviews please.........just make time dammit! I demand it!!!!

    :)

  • Well, look on the bright side Nate, you already have 2000 views, which means you already got your money back for making this video :P

  • Jesus you are funny.

  • NOOO PLAY MORE GAMES

  • Looks like the equivalent of buying a balloon, blowing it up, and popping it.

  • Maybe if the baloon, upon bursting, travels back in time and punches your childhood self in the kidneys. Heh

  • Dude... a time-traveling balloon would be awesome.

  • I don't remember the ship in asteroids ever having deacceleration capabilities

  • Well then you rememer wrong. In the utterly countless hours I played I made a habbit out if taking advantage of the fact the ship reacted with inertia when you stopped accelerating and turned to accelerate in the other direction. Not just instantly burst in the direction of thrust like this one did.

  • That's actually the reason I never moved the ship unless I absolutely had to.

In the original, once your ship took off it was almost impossible to get it to stay perfectly still again.

Memories are better left as memories though.

  • All you hafto do to make your ship stationary was risk te hyperspace move ;)

  • back in the old days .....or not :(

  • Blunty doing a game review once again!

What a glorious day this is =) keep it up man

  • well look at the bright side, you'll easily make more than $4.99 of this video :)

  • yay another game review! My favourite thing to see next to a blunty video is game review :D

  • That's too bad, I saw one of these at a store and passed it up as it was much more than $5 and now I'm glad I did. Thank you Blunty for buying crappy hardware so I don't have do. Still, I'm sorry they crapped on your fond memories with a cheaply made cash-in on nostalgia product.

  • i might actually bring that into school to play in IT

  • The good old days are gone forever. *burp*

  • I would buy one just because it looks cool on my keychain

  • In regards to the description, the Atari games had good graphics for the time period they were made.

  • Exactly. These games were considered cutting edge when they were released.

Problem is that our expectations have changed.

Every time I fire up the Atari I turn it back off after about 10 minutes because the games are terrible compared to what I remember.

  • That is the exact same as me, like the old gameboy. i use to sit and play pokemon for hours i loved it!

and now i turn it on and then off in 10 minutes, i wish i still loved them as much

  • heh, good point.

    I did play Sonics 1 and 2 and other games when I was under 6, but my first proper games system was the Playstation so even in my youth I wouldn't have thought these games were amazing technically ^^;

  • Haha Blunty is awesome lmaoooo love his shows

  • Never did play with an Atari, that was before my time, but I do have fond memories of playing Asteroids and Centipede on Microsoft Windows 3.0, they were pretty awesome games. Never was any good at them though :/

  • If you look really really close it reads, "made in china".

  • i totally agree with you...i love all the older games...i do like some of the news ones, but the old games are still amazing and will never grow old

  • nice review

  • @Blunty

    PLAY UNCHARTED 2 ALLREDY

  • "hello again i am blunty" (;~) i love it when he says that!!

  • Graphics have come a long way lol

  • the only way you can play a good atari game is to have the original hardware, hooked up to a CRT screen via co-ax, and the game cartridges. I actually play mine with a Mega Drive controller because it's a bit more ergonomic than the original control stick, (but I still like playing with an Atari stick from time to time).

  • yars revenge is awesome

  • atari....fun?

  • 5 bucks well spent lol

  • the sound at the end of the 'Game Over' piece sounded an awful lot like the sort of noise you hear in low budget hypnosis foley music in certain films.

  • It reminds me of the Hypno-Toad from Futurama.

  • PacMan was the First big HYPED game for the 2600. Maybe the First HYPED Vid Game Ever. But what a piece of DooDoo it was. Not even close!!

    Thanks Blunty!

    Keep on YouTubin!

  • youtubin... woohoo a new verb!

  • lol what do you expect from a keychain?

  • blunty reminds me of tony stark....

  • Haha true! :D

  • dude, no need to jump down his throat. This is the origins of gaming. If it wasn't for the good old games like Pac Man and Asteroids, we wouldn't have Halo, COD4, Assasins Creed and Mirrors Edge. Show a little respect to the seeds of modern day gaming dude.

  • I'm gonna sell semen and buy alot of those now... but where will I ever find that much semen!?

  • nice to have a bitch about something but what did you expect for $5??? it was never going to live up to the original!

  • i wud have liked to see centipede instead

  • Mmmm, they had a similar deal here in Canada but the gear was much more burly, of course it cost a whole 12$ not 5$

We're still playing the friggin thing.

It has about a dozen games built in and they all play pretty close to original (kids just laugh their asses off at how lame the graphics are).

But, even with lame graphics, a good game is still a good game. (astroids in particular was always one of my favs)

    Thanks for the review

    Cheers

  • What a disgrace to the name of Atari. This is right up Dr. Ashens' street. If you really want to take along Atari wherever you go, just get a carrying case for the good ol' woodgrained original.

On a side note, I am actually wearing my Atari boxer shorts right now.

  • Aww, shame it wasn't what you thought it would be :(!

But at least they where only a fiver ^^!

  • omg MOTHER!! fucking love that stuff XD

  • that video capture device. can you plug consoles into it? ..... well if so where can i buy one.

  • 4:20 Blunty ftw =D

  • Seems like your nostalgia goggles haven't come off yet eh?

  • You just have big sexy man hands Blunty :P

  • Congratulations! You just bought a colombian imitation :D

  • Ahahaha @ 3:55

  • good review and many good points! for some reason i still want one ?

  • only fetus's can play :') hahahah

  • BLUNTY FIIIIISSSSSTS!!!

  • this video reminded me a little of Dr. Ashens

  • also a fetus would not be strong enough to break the joystick like you did with your great meaty man-paws.

They should just redo the packaging text to read "for ages 0 and under."

    :)

  • hey, fetuses deserve video game controllers they can handle, I mean they are people, just ask Randal Terry.

  • Game colour profession if you're interested: B & W -> 4 -> 16 -> 256 -> 65536 -> lots.

Bought to you by the Flyod Steinberg institute useless facts.

  • Lol @ burp
