I knew this was a joke going in by the name but for a moment I was like "what? is this real?" realised all the subtext was the made up jargon being highlighted and started peeing myself! ROFL
Bah...not as good as the classic encabulator videos but only because this fella seems to always be on the verge of exploding with laughter every time he speaks! :)
ChrisInAStrangeLand: Are you kidding, you think he's actually plugging real products? This is just another version of the turbo-encabulator. Look it up. Ain't no such thing, perfesser. This is a gag.
Now what about the transylvanial transmortifier relay? We all know that when using the Heisenburg compensator, transient waves of the wartburg type totally negate the capacitive reactance of the fisszler reactor, This in turn fizzles the kanuten valve, and when that happens, bend over and kiss your ass goodbye. Just trying to help.
Parody is considered fair use, which is good for Chrysler, Rockwell, and GE because they al did parodys of the encabulator but none of them were the originators of this script.
If you read the video notes, this parody is described as an update of the turbo encabulator, The widely circulated piece on the mythical "turbo-encabulator" was written by Bernard Salwen, a New York lawyer working in Washington, DC during World War II.
Very interesting history; I wasn't aware of that. I didn't read the video notes because I don't know how to access it. Might be my lack of knowledge on youtube, but all I saw was the videos under turbo enc.
Never mind my last. I perused the page and discovered the notes. Funny, I was actually aware of the Heisenburg uncertainty principle, and now the irony and comedy of the 'update' sticks out to me a bit more.
@overheardinpdx Parody is only fair use when you're parodying the original work. In this case, the orginal work is already a parody; copying it virtually word for word would not be fair use no matter what, but since it doesn't parody the original but merely reproduces it, it isn't protected.
As well they should, I love the little changes and updates as this old industry joke evolves. The Star Trek reference, the CG. Good shit. Still a laugh if you ask me. What else are these office guys supposed to do with their time, work?
Clearly, Sun's Heisenberg Compensator is little more than an extension of the technology Chrysler developed for use in their Turbo Encabulators. Nothing new to see here, folks.

In addition, he also plugged three existing company products that were not used as props.
