hey man, great video. been dealing with a learning disability all my life. Ive learned a lot of this stuff through my own experience, its great to hear some one explain and validate it like this.
YES! I now have vindication for my pen lol! People think I am weird because all through college and now in my field (electrical engineer) I would and still will only use one pen: it is a 4 color Bic. Every page I write in my notebooks is multicolored and every color stands for something. If I misplace my pen I go nuts (yes, I know, a little OCD going on, but it works for me).
Schemes and diagrams also help a lot. And abbreviation or association do wonder. If you have to remember a list of features or terms, try to form words with the initials of those items. Or sometimes you can get by only by remembering how many items the list has. You have to list 7, but you remember only 5, what's missing? Try to make everything logic, rational. You won't go far by memorising.
I am a neuroscientist in the University of Cambridge studying memory, and I can vow that all these tips are very very accurate. Well done, I did not expect so elegant explanations of memory from a fitness vlog
@strengthcamp I was actually working on medicine that improves memory, that in the future could be used from the general public to increase their mental capacity. Something like super-brains, a parallel to the super-muscle produced by your hybrid muscle program :)
I use something very similar to what you talked about in this video, word or object association. Something called the Roman Room works well for me, I associate every object in a room with something. Eg my playroom I go left to right, first object is my desk, desks carry things, haemoglobin carries oxygen. Next is my lamp, it has 4 bulbs, haemoglobin has 4 globin molecules. Just an example for something I used on biology!
YO Elliot, im 15 in 10th grade and ive been researching health info about cancer, well i went to my school library can printed out 122 full pages of text on differnt cures, treatments, causes, ect.. weill i go through and highlight in differnt colors differnt things, and it really helps me understand the info.. everyday while my classmates are reading Twilight, im gaining this knowlege that i can use in life, and i really enjoy it.. so i just thought it was funny tht i do this. great vids

I find that worjing out and studying on the same day is alot harder than just studying. what works for me is if i know i have alot of studying i need to do on a certain day, i wont workout or do any exercise that day, also , grap a coffe and go to the library where theres no distraction. works for me!
