All competitors have to wear chainmail guards that cover the entire foot and shin up to the knee. He's a big boy but he couldn't cut through it with the axe. He'd get a killer bruise and need new shoes though. And the closer the feet - the faster the time. All pro underhand choppers have their feet close together.

That's a very slow time, he's clubbing with the axe and not sliding his hands, foot stance was terrible and should have used a banana grind for that type of wood, he really needs to clear out the bottom wood better too. Last but not least he didn't draw his angles right and wooded himself, he would have gotten a better time if he cleared out the bottom wood.
