Me and my coach have been working on not doing that for the past year now....I am still trying to get use to jumping in hj spikes and so far i've gotten to the point where i can jump 7' in practice without dragging....U have to learn to try and use your speed through take-off as opposed to dropping down and powering up to jump...one trick i use is to not bring my inside arm back when i get ready to take off...it helps me not reach back and bend down...but i still drag once the bar gets higher
yo, just wondering, do you always drag your toe when you bring your knee through? I do the same, and no matter how much i try to get rid of it in practice, whenever i go to jump in a meet it always happens. plus its ruining my shoes :(
damn sonson!! I wish i could jump that high. My PR is only 6'8". I wish i would've hade a coach to teach me high jump. Its not all that easy doing it on your own. But that was in high school its been like 2 years since then and i joined the marines. I tried jumping with my old high school the other day and i only got 6'3".
