I think this is somehow connected with all those Jerusalem UFO sightings.
Minus the obscure ones, the bulk majority of clips you claim are "real" have already been debunked as elaborate, but fraudulent hoaxes.
It appears you "want to believe" more than any real evidence exists and you are willing to sucker your gullible audience into believing that this outdated series of debunked videos are fresh and authentic.
As our flight technology increases, you seem to want more than anything to believe that every human piloted and controlled aircraft is now of Alien Origin.
Its the tip of the wing of the airplane itself, filmed thru the window, the airplane's window is bended on the edge, thats why the distortion, the object seems to move, but actually its the camcorder which is being moved, I have tested this myself.
@croppie44 This was shot on a Super8 movie film camera in 1966, 20 years before the first big, heavy camcorders became available. It's the tailplane, not the wing. Joan Oldfield didn't see it through the viewfinder; it was only discovered when the film came back from the processors, and of course it was too late to go back and have a proper look!.
I live in England near the North Yorkshire Moors, I saw a ufo in the middle of the day, it looked like a satalite gliding about the height of a low flying aircraft, (drum shaped) it had a trumpet like cone shape on the front just like a black hole like looking at a trumpet front on, There was a very loud pulsating deep bass sound coming from the object. I could also see silver like lines coming off the edges of the object with lights flashing at the ends. Has anyone seen anything like this?
@TheReddwarff100 I saw a craft in the new mexico desert in the states and could identify vents and tubes along the side of it, it made no noise though, changed my life
Yeah, I was the same man, when I saw this thing I didn,t think about life in the same why ever since. I went through and still go through the ideas that it could be military or it could have been a falling satalite. But when I do think about it I always come to the conclusion that there was something not right about it. It was just not something that human kind would build and float slowly in the sky like that. That image just doesn,t really ever leave my mind.
Notice how that "UFO" disappears at the end of the clip. The airplane window just twists the image. It's propably just wing tip of the same plane this video is shootet from.
I can understand the tailplane explanation. The image does look like a tailplane, and this can be verified in the debunking BBC video. But what I'm curious about is how the cameraman made it so that the tailplane would do a 360 manouevre and reverse before disappearing quickly? I can understand if the cameraman zoomed in and out quickly the image may disappear due to the mirage effect, but surely it wouldn't make the tailplane also do a 360 manouevre? Can I get an objective explanation?
It's not fake, and it's not moving because it's an image of the airliner's tailplane, distorted by the inward curvature at the edge of the window pane. The image was identified and replicated by the BBC within a week of its appearance.
u guys are all idiots its not a blimp its one of the stabilizing pins they sometimes have going in between the two panes of glass on the airplane window
It's not that, either. The Herald has no such pins. It's the tip of the tailplane seen through the edge of the window pane where it bends inwards to fit into the aperture. The "fins" are the small aerodynamic strakes unique to the Herald's tailplane, and the image is mirrored because light reflected from the tail takes two paths through the curved Perspex.
You can still see the same image of the tail in preserved Heralds today, and it expands and contracts as you move the camera in and out.
The image is only visible in this form at a certain distance from the window and at a certain angle. It's like a mirage on a road, where you see distant objects detached and distorted by refraction through air at different temperatures. Move the camera by a small amount and the image shrinks away completely or expands. If you lean forward and look astern, the tailplane is clearly visible, with little or no mirroring effect. Some bizjets with big windows probably offer similar optical effects.
The nearest blimp was over 3000 miles away and had "Goodyear " painted on it in huge letters.
The tailplane, however, was just a few feet away, and guaranteed to keep up with the rest of the airliner.
Amazing, isn't it, that people who know nothing about aircraft, geography or history, and can't be bothered to check things out, glibly say "blimp" when it couldn't possibly have been one!
whike it`s good to keep a fair level of scepticism, i think some of you guys could be visited personally by aliens, have dinner with them, get taken for a ride back to their planet for a swim, and still need more proof.
You may be right. Perhaps we are being visited by ET, but why post that comment against such a well-documented misperception of an everyday object? I remember seeing this on TV in 1966, and I recognised it immediately as the tailplane. So did most people interested in British airliners. It was literally a nine days' wonder, and the BBC replication of the footage seemed to have consigned it to history - until the American media got hold of it and touted it anew as a UFO, which it never was!.
How can it be a blimp when the nearest blimp was over 3000 miles away across the Atlantic? How could a blimp keep up with a turpoprop airliner cruising at over 250mph? And where is the huge Goodyear name painted the length of all blimps then in existence?
This was shot from a Handley Page Herald in 1966. A few days later the BBC shot identical footage from a Herald and showed the image for what it was - the tip of the tailplane, distorted by refraction at the edge of the window. NEVER a UFO!
Is the fact that you can go and sit in any one of four preserved Handley Page Heralds in the UK and see this image through the starboard rear window not enough for you?
Actually, it's the tip of the tailplane, which Americans call the horizontal stabilizer. Google Image "Handley Page Dart Herald", find a rear three-quarter view, and look at the small strakes ahead of the elevator balance. Those are the "fins" of the "UFO".
The BBC's reconstruction of the sighting (or part of it) is now online!
Google "The Oldfield UFO Film - Evidence that some UFOs are mirages" for a clip from a documentary showing a heavily edited clip of the 1966 Tomorrow's World item. It's the lower of the two vids on the page.
The BBC had a longer lens than the Oldfields, so their "UFO" is magnified and not quite mirrored, but it's obviously the tailplane. The American narrator confuses refraction (which it was) with reflection.
It was only visible within a short distance from the window. When the BBC reproduced it, they moved their camera in and out, and the image appeared and disappeared. As I said, you can visit Heralds in museums and see this image of the tailplane if you sit in the rearmost window seat.
It gets shorter as you move away from it and see less of the tail, and the little strakes go out of sight. The light takes two paths through the inward-curved part of the pane, creating a mirrored image of the tip.
Super 8 movie shot by Joan Oldfield from a Handley Page Herald, early April 1966. It was the tip of the Herald's distinctive tailplane, refracted and distorted by curvature of window pane at the edge. BBC TV filmed an identical image from the same seat in a Herald a few days later, and you can see the same effect today in any of 4 Heralds in museums. See 1966 newspapers. Image is detached for same reason as a mirage is detached. Any airliner window will do this to an object seen near the edge.
The obvious giveaway is that the image stays in the same place, centred on the line of greatest curvature in the window. It has to be an optical effect. Small camera movements in and out produce the expansion and contraction.
If you screen cap this and put an upright ellipse around it to match the window edge curve, you find that the image is tiny, about 10% of the window width at full expansion.
@Thejbirdy Look up ( URL prefix)i.pbase.com/o3/56/710256/1/108377052.xUjM2Rt0.Scan0901180009740.jpg to see a Herald with the tailplane tip almost in line with the rearmost window. The little strakes above and below the tailplane, doubled by refraction through the window rim to become the "fins" of the "UFO", are clearly visible. It wasn't really a hoax; Joan Oldfield was puzzled by the image when she got the film back, and the tabloid press made a big thing of this supposed "UFO".
i know what's on that tape is neither a helicopter or a harrier jump-jet, just wanted to point out 2 examples of aircraft that we have on earth that can hover.
why does everyone who sees and UFO or alian etc has liek the worlds shittes vedeo recorder in the frikkin world that goes like 1 frame per second seriously!!!
purtroppo è stato dimostrato ormai da tempo, che l'oggetto in questione, altro non era che il riflesso della coda stessa dell'aereo, che nell'oblò della cabina, x un effetto ottico, si sdoppiava, assumendo le sembianze di un disco.
Obviousley not real. Think, if Extra terrestirial beings have the technology to fly around a vacuum at millions even billions of M/ph, then you think they would design their craft more accurate than that piece of shit on tape, it looks lopsided and those bumps are not the sam side.
That's what they look like and move like. They look stupid fake but there real! Keep hitting pause as fast as you can and see the other strange things that come and go as you see the craft move into the distance!
unlikely a blimp can move that fast away from a plane, if its reflection why cant you see any other reflection of the photographer or person holding the reflected object, yet another example of an unusual sighting which cannot be easily confirmed or denied. Mysteries are what we need to wake us from our delusion that all we know is all that can exist.
I have to believe in UFOs. This is proof. All of you who think its fake, look at the scratches on the film! That proves that this is a UFO. If you say you believe in them, then stop tearing down good people trying to present the evidence!
I always wanted to comment on this bs video, obviously some part of the plane and optical mirror like refractions. There are ufos, this isnt one and the liar/hoaxer knew it.
Blimps don't follow an airplane at the same altitude and speed then change direction and accelerate at a speed hard to even calculate. To give some perspective on the UFO's flying speeds: commercial planes fly between 700 and 300 mph on an average flight depending on the make and model.
it doesnt look like a wingtip to me, there is a space between it and the plane, plus i've been on a plane and the wingtip usually looks quite obviously like a wingtip.
I'm tired of explaining this piece of footage over and over again, try and find one of the many other repostings of it and read my explanation there instead.
