Amazing how in 2008 in Hong Kong and in 2009 in Dubai, Balius was always considered one of the favorites in nearly every race he was entered in. In 2010, he was a well beaten last in the Sky Bet York Stakes to Summit Surge. Sent out in Godolphin's second string silks while Allybar was in their first string. Balius also ran in a conditions stakes at Newmarket. Where he did finish 2nd. But was beaten by a street by Traffic Guard in the race.

This is the last time I've seen Archipenko run a "winning type" race. He's always been a tough race horse. But it's been a while since Archipenko has had a big win in a big race like this.
