  • these videos make me depressed as a godzilla fan...lol i'd love to have HD versions of these movies w/ jap subs...and dubs (the kiddos love'em)...these things are kinda pricey though right?

  • @TheStellerclear Hey there! Sorry for the late reply. I'm sure you realize that these blu-rays are region-free, so they DO work on USA players, and they do have Japanese subtitles, however, no English subs or dubs on them. And for a price tag around $60 a piece...maybe that should go towards the kiddo's allowance? lol ;)

  • can you get region 2 versions? I have a british ps3.

  • @godzillaisnuclea123 , again, blurays have 3 regions, A B and C, so I'm pretty sure you're ok with your PS3, since the Godzilla blu-rays made by TOHO happen to be region-free from the factory :)

  • Where can you purchase these?

  • @CrappyMan555 hehe that be my kitty :)

  • i want it

  • Why don't our Godzilla DVDs get re-released with THOSE menus??? Don't we all wish?

  • thatz an epic menu dude!! i wanth those subtitles or not.

  • They don't happen to have zone fighter on bluray yet, do they?

I can't find subbed versions of that anywhere, so I might as well think about getting it this way.

  • Do these come with English Subtitles?

  • @vinniebraz01 Afraid not, nor do the Region 2 DVD releases. Ironically the Region 3 Chinese releases include English subtitles, and have the correct widescreen resolution, but the image quality is not as good.

  • Quality is fantastic.

  • When did they start doing this

  • Toho started coming out with these blu-rays a few months ago actually during late 2009, and since then they've rolled out with quite a few ;) Thanks for watching

  • Will they play on the PS3

  • @1987ced Yes sir, they will just fine ;) On any USA bluray player no problem.

  • Loading times are way too long on my copy as well, so it might be a disc thing. Also when I saw that first static motion menu I thought "...is this it?" :)

I had the dvd release running on a player going through the same TV to compare them and it does look clearer on the Blu-Ray. It looks like subtle texture details have been cleaned up.

Also some import sites have this Blu-Ray listed as Region A. I've yet to try it on a Region B player to check.

How many are you planning to get? :)

  • Well, depends really. These blu-rays are really great, but also really expensive...I suppose whatever I can get I'll get, based on my favorites, then I'll get the other blu-rays at a later time :) What about you?

  • I bought this Blu-Ray because it's my favourite Godzilla movie, but I don't know if I'll get them all. I'm limiting my Blu-Ray purchases to movies I can watch at any time. Movies where it doesn't matter what mood I'm in, I can just chill out and watch a whole film. Otherwise I'll just end up rebuying all my DVDs which I don't want to do because a: I don't watch all of them that much, and b: it'll be expensive! :)
